I'd recommend the comedy issue of Premiere to everyone, it's got some great pictures of comedians and an oral history of comedy.
Anyway the list of the 50 greatest comedies they have is much more inclusive than that other list. Here they are in cronological order
Safety Last The Gold Rush The General Duck Soup It Happened One Night A Night at the Opera My Man Godfrey The Awful Truth Bringing Up Baby His Girl Friday A Chump at Oxfod The Bank Dick To be or Not to Be Road to Marocco The Miacle of Morgan's Creek The Ladykillers (1955) Big Deal on Madonna Street Some like it Hot The Apartment Dr. Strangelove A Shot in the Dark The Producers M*A*S*H Sleeper Blazing Saddles Young Krankenstein Monty Python and the Holy Grail The Sunshine Boys Annie Hall Animal House Heaven can Wait The In-Laws (1979) The Jerk Airplane! Caddyshack Private Benjamin My Favorite Year Trading Places National Lampoon's Vacation This is Spinal Tap A Fish Called Wanda Grouindhog Day Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery The Big Lebowski There's Something About Mary Rushmore Best in Show Zoolander Wedding Crashers The 40-year-old Virgin
okay discuss...

Ugh. There's Something About Mary, Caddyshack, and Wedding Crashers are on this one as well? Am I the only one who thinks these three are overrated pieces of crap?
And Zoolander being on that list is just plain wrong.
But at least they have a wider selection than than Bravo's.

Much better list, but with Torgo, I've never liked Mary and Zoolanders cute, but not top 50 material.
Muray makes Caddyshake for me. Yeah I know, comedies subjective. But overall I like this list much more.

Caddyshack should be on any top-50 comedies list. Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, and Chevy Chase (when he was funny), with Harold Ramis at the helm...it's a powerhouse of comedy. Although, I'll grant you that the whole Danny Noonan subplot is pretty dull.
But I'll agree that Mary, Zoolander, and Wedding Crashers don't belong. Zoolander especially is almost painfully not funny.

Ummm, no Ghostbusters? Top Secret? Yet, Rushmore and Zoolander. Wow. I obviously did not have a vote on that list.

Much better than Bravo's list (although that's not hard to do), but the omission of Monty Python's Life of Brian is really surprising. It's easily one of the Top-10 comedies ever made and (IMO) Python's best film.

and Chevy Chase (when he was funny), Chevy Chase used to be funny? I find that hard to believe.

My Favorite Year. For a long time if I was asked "Favorite Movie?" my answer was "My Favorite Year". Haven't seen it for a ling time now.

As far as old movies go, I liked Chaplin's Modern Times better than The Gold Rush. They're both good ones though

hard to imagine a top comedy list without The Blues Brothers

"Anchorman" is easily funnier than any of the last five films on the list, and most of the rest of the others too. But a lot of people evidently disagree with me. That lot of people are all wrong

I do not see "What About Bob?" in that list so I cannot take it seriously.
