Alligator on DVD September 18th!!!The monster movie fan inside of me has been waiting for this one for a long time. Back when it was decent, the Sci-Fi channel used to air this movie a lot and everytime I came across it, I always sat down and watched it. I've never seen the movie uncut, because the VHS is out of print and a DVD was never released. Now, in two weeks time, this forgotten little monster flick will be mine in all it's glory. Any one else a fan of this one?

I, too, like this movie a lot, Torgo.
And I'm sorry to see that you've never seen it uncut! I saw it when it first came out.

I wasn't even born when it first came out. I was about 7 for that sh***y sequel, though I never heard of it until they aired them both back to back on Sci-Fi.

That film really freaked me out when I was a kid.
I look forward to seeing it again.

Is this the one where the gator is up north, like Maine?

I think you might be thinking of Lake Placid, and that was a croc.
Alligator is a 1980 movie about a baby alligator flushed down the toilet and grew like 40 feet long in the sewer. It eventually surfaces and starts eating people.

This is one of those monster movies that should be really cheesy given its subject mater but it’s actually quite well done. The script writer John Sayles who also wrote the scripts for Piranha and The Howling, both also favorites of mine.

I remember seeing Piranha at the drive-in. Does anyone else remember the tiny monster-like imp? They only showed it for a second, and never explained it at all...

Changed the title because I found another thing that made me go yay, and it seemed spammy to start YES PART II! For the entire six years I've been collecting DVDs I have had one dream...and according to this, on October 30th, 2007, that dream is becoming a reality. Yes friends, in a month and a half the Three Stooges will begin their chronological volume sets, and I will die a happy man (assuming I don't die before collecting them all). I can't believe it took them this long. But I've always excused that on Columbia waiting for that dead in the water Farrelly Brothers Three Stooges movie to hit the screen and milk off of it. Since we haven't heard a word from that pile in years, I guess they're finally letting it out. Now dance with me!

Oh, nice. The Stooges will be a future purchase, for sure.

I wonder how many volumes they'll churn out total, that is if they get far enough to do every short?
There are only 19 shorts on this release, which is a pretty odd number, so I think they might be doing them by the years, maybe? This one is 1934-6, which is three total, and the Stooges lasted until 57, which would be about 7 or 8 volumes. But if they stick with like 20 shorts per volume, then it would probably be around 10.
Either way, lotsa volumes. I hope they churn these out pretty fast.

Just picked up Alligator at Best Buy today. I was shocked to see that this disc actually has special features on it, since it seems like the type of movie someone would release with just the trailer and nothing else, if that much.
But it has an interview and a commentary on it. I haven't popped the disc in to see if it includes the trailer or not, but it's not listed on the box.
