I can't read any news stories about Katrina without thinking of that awful moive. Does that make me a bad person? I mean now the mayor is threatning to force people out of New Orleans. At least in the movie the government offered them land in Utah when they left "Da Bronx"
Anyone else make this conection?

Before even seeing this thread my wife e-mailed me about that connection. I have to admit it is eerily similar to Escape 2000. The only difference being that this is real life and not a crappy movie!

"Even though this is Italy, you must leave New Orleans." Hmm... doesn't have the same ring to it.
Yea, I noticed the similarities here too. Unlike the movie, however, there's a good reason to leave New Orleans.

I can't read any news stories about Katrina without thinking of that awful moive. Does that make me a bad person? No. Humor is one way we have to cope with unimaginable horror. I remember the jokes about the first space shuttle disaster.
