This is a bit bothersome. I'm kinda annoyed that they announced a pre-mature date. I'm guessing it was for the holidays which is all fine and good, but it annoys me still. The date for release should have been worst case scenario for them, but that's not the way it turned out. By the time of the live show, everything for sale should have been completed and ready to go. Hopefully this won't happen again and they'll give themselves plenty of breathing room.

My prediction is that it will be mid-January at earliest until we see it.
I hope I'm wrong about that one.

Let's all take a deep breath....Everything sounds as though it's been going well so far. The live show may have been part of alerting them to things that may need work. Whatever they're doing, for whatever reason, it sounds pretty minor. Another thing, as others have pointed out, Christmas is coming, but shopping days are here! They should want to make haste with the production so as to get the gift giving season at its peak. And last, I just can't see them putting us through such a torment as to have us wait until the new year... I'm mean after all this!? I'm sure we'll be hearing something soon!

One wonders , Do they check here much at all ? . . . those Titans.
You'd think RAD might've mentioned our little domain as his favorite little hotbed of MSTy-ness !
you know . . . mentioned to them !

When they did the live shows they got instant feedback on what works and what doesn't. So Joel did the right thing by delaying it. He wants it to be the best it can be and since he is the one holding the purse strings he can do that. Even Mike and the gang at Rifftrax when doing the live shows last year changed stuff from one night to the next because they could see instantly what worked and what didn't.

Well, then he should have announced the release date for LATER if he was gonna fine tune it. It's just kinda annoying to me, not releasing something on the date it was announced to be released.

Honestly, the project sounds very promising, and I'm excited to see what they make. If they feel they need a little time to make it that much better, then I fully support that even if it means waiting a little longer. I doubt the delay will be very long, a week or two maybe. Everyone should just relax. Cinematic Titanic is in capable hands with one of the greatest comic teams of the modern era, let them work their magic.

I have a feeling that Joel and co. will want to release this in time for Christmas-- after all, that's when people do all of their shopping and go way over budget. I think pre-Christmas is when a lot of DVDs are released so that they do good sales as gifts, etc. So here's hoping for CT in time for Christmas!

I understand that they wanted to set an aggresive target date, and it's okay that they missed it. But, I think they should give a new target date.

Heh, anyone who follows video game development closely is painfully familiar with release dates getting pushed back. The problem with a company setting a release date in stone before they are 100% on it is that the fans will always be clamoring for blood if they miss the date, and it can potentially hurt the project they’re rushing it get it out by the deadline.
Its better to aim for something like “first quarter 2008” or something and then announcing a release date only when most of the production is close to being completed. Now fortunately Msties are a patient and understanding bunch so I don’t think most of us were too upset that they missed their initial target and I hope they tell us when it’s coming out soon. I also hope though they wait until they know for sure before doing so.

Life is full of little disappointments. You'll get over it. If this was Rhino we'd be shitting ourselves all over the place, but since it's Joel most everyone is letting him slide. I like Joel, but it's fairly unprofessional not to release on the announce date and then probably push it back probably a month now. Despite me being a fan, it's a customer-supplier thing going here.

...since it's Joel most everyone is letting him slide. Damn straight. After more than a decade of waiting for some kind of content from Joel, I'm willing to wait more than a week. None of us have paid anything for it, our jobs don't depend on it, and this ain't Darkstar. Oh and on Mary Jo Pehl's blog we find out there will be "insterstitials"...at least, for the live show (though I kinda think that means for the regular show too.)
