I agree about the dark copy being annoying. I recorded both of them directly from TV myself and my copy of 206 is also very dark but my copy of 113 the Black Scorpian is pretty clean.

Yes, fathermushroom! I still have not watched all of Slime People because I can't see a damned thing, and Ring of Terror is just as bad. I am glad to know it's not my crappy DVD player.

Red Zone Cuba, some of the shots you can't even see what's in the background, whether it be dirt or grass. That and Beast of Yucca Flats, at least Skydivers had a somewhat alright film quality.

I would really imagine that "The Creeping Terror" would fall into this category since much of the original audio was originally lost and was replaced by narration. I wonder if that annoying "windy" sound that occurs throughout the film is intentional.
Also, I read that "Manos" director Warren rented the cheapest of equipment: a hand-held camera that could only record a limited number of seconds of film at a time.

Well that explains why the scenes kept cutting out randomly, and repeating line after line after line. Thanks for the tidbit

Nobody's mentioned Castle of Fu Manchu yet? Half the scenes were so faded they were just red blobs, and a bunch of others were tinted green. God, that movie, I put it on my external hard drive and took it out of my regular rotation.

Castle of Fu Manchu was one of my first MST3K experiences back during broadcast, and it was a horrible print. "Even the credits suck!" Who needs plot and acting when you can't hear or see the film?
Then I got it from Netflix without MST3K. The remastered sound and especially color do change the experience to interesting, if only to compare the versions. The cinematography with the adjusted color is pretty decent, though everything else tends to still be inferior.

90% of Ring of Terror is ABSOLUTELY unwatchable. And then they team it with ANOTHER Phantom Creeps. Its better to watch that episode blindfolded 'cause its just as good.

I really can't hear anything on The Killer Shrews. Someone else mentioned seeing that movie on TV recently and the sound was much better so the MST copy was pretty bad.

Perhaps it's just my copy, but 'Last of the Wild Horses' is damn near unwatchable. I've given it a few shots, but it's almost infuriating to watch (or attempt).
