Thought I would start a thread continuing a long held tradition here of complete speculation about the next commercial release of MST3K. That said, what episodes/extras would you like to see in the 2nd Shout Factory release? What episodes do you think will likely be included? There's also a thread, started long ago Van Hagar that Travis has (since 2006?) maintained. Going by the link, the following titles are the most likely to see release by Shout: 103 Mad Monster 105 The Corpse Vanishes 108 The Slime People 412 Hercules and the Captive Women 413 Manhunt In Space 415 The Beatniks 509 Girl In Lovers Lane 520 Radar Secret Service 521 Santa Claus 602 Invasion USA 605 Colossus and the Headhunters 610 The Violent Years 611 Last of the Wild Horses 616 Racket Girls 618 High School Big Shot 620 Danger! Death Ray 817 Horror of Party Beach 819 Invasion of the Neptune Men 910 The Final Sacrifice 913 Quest of the Delta Knights 1007 Track of the Moonbeast 1008 Final Justice Based on the link, 2 of the 4 releases from the 20th Anniversary Box were "Extremely-Likely". So, based on that as a guide post, what will likely/"hopefully" be in the next box? Please discuss. |

Based on that list I think that I would like to see
-- 509 The Girl in Lovers Lane (Solid Joel Episode)
-- 610 Violent Years (Hilarious episode written by Ed Wood CC era)
-- 910 The Final Sacrifice (Solid episode all around & Rowsdower)
-- 1008 Final Justice (Joe Don Baker as a hapless cowboy sheriff in Malta, painful sure but what's not to like)
Close second to this list is
-- 415 The Beatniks (Mooney killed that fat barkeep)
-- 1007 Track of the Moonbeast (with winter coming on it is a good episode to get Johnny Lowbow's secret Navajo recipe)

Based on that list, with the idea of balancing out their first set, I'd like to see...
First, what I think are clearly the three best episodes on the list:
620
521
509
And then another Joel ep to balance things out. I'll with 412 since I've always enjoyed the Hercules eps. Though 413 & 415 would be good choices too.
Though you could make a great set just from the season 6 eps on that list - 605, 610, 611, 620 - that would be stronger than most of the sets that have been released so far.

Forgive the possibly stupid question, but is Rhino no longer releasing MST3K titles, or are these Shout Factory releases happening along with Rhino's own output?

Rhino is no longer releasing new MST3K titles. Mallon/Best Brains have an exclusive deal now with Shout to release MST3K on Home Video. That said, it's unclear how long the Rhino releases (Vol. 1-8, 11 & 12 and all the singles) will still be in print. I don't really know if anyone knows the answer, definitively. |

Santa Clause
Danger! Death Ray
Horror Of Party Beach
Final Sacrifice
Of course I wouldn't mind someone pulling out all the stops to release magic Voyage of Sinbad ahead of all of these!

Seems like a fair set to me. Since their 1st set was Mike-heavy, the second release should be Joel-heavy.

Going by what Shout did for the first set, I'll use the same blueprint: 312 Gamera Vs. Guiron <Possible> 509 Girl In Lovers Lane <Extremely Likely> 610 The Violent Years <Extremely Likely> 701 Night of the Bloodbeast <Possible/Not Likely> Four very solid A+ episodes, on most people's grading scale. The best Gamera episode, IMO. 4 very different episodes. 2 Joel/2 Mike. Extra's, the MST Scrapbook and on the 701 disc, offer the option to watch with either Turkey Day Host Segments or Regular Host Segments. |

I would love to see that myself angilasman. While recently re- watching my VHS copies of the first few episodes of season 5 it was great to see the commercials for MST3K. I would certainly like to see more of course |
