That's the thing, I WANT to like the show. I really do. But the show just won't let me enjoy it, no matter how hard I try.

Honestly, if I was having that many problems with it by this point, I'd just give up. It's not like there's a lot to be gained by watching a TV show anyway.

Damn ,
I lost the commercial-break reading up on "DK's dilemma". My feelings for the show are certainly different & much more open & embracing , but I do have to quiet the voices within me of "hype" & "over-expectation".
As a wise member of these boards said recently "you have to let this show unfold".
Episode 8 is apparently titled "4 Months Ago" . . . so right now they're making us say " wait, what happened to Nathan ? / Parkman's divorced ?...that's it ? " , and so forth.
I must admit, seeing D.L.'s grave had me going " another spouse just dispensed with so easily ?"
On the other hand , I love Hiro's notes to Ando , ala' Doc Brown's 80 year old mail to Marty McFly .
Whoa ! Just watched Peter's wound spit out the bullet , you know , just before he made with the Vader neck-grip !
All-in-all, this ep feels like a segueway between greater outings, but that will prob'ly change by the time I'm watching the season on DvD.

Tonight, I really liked Sylar's part. It was great to see him dealing with the loss of his powers, and fighting with illusions. (He'll realize at the end of the series that it was all an illusion) (Or not)
Also, I really liked the way it ended, with Claire's story coming in conflict with her father again, and him seeing his future.

& next week ? ... Nathan has shaved ! His "beard" has actually just moved on, after finding a more amenable host organism.

All I can say about Niki and Mikah's story is, I hope Uhura is on a lot. Aside from that, I liked D.L. better than them.

But do the kids these days actually say stuff like " you look like ass ? " I hope not, but it made me laugh anyway. Overall, I actually enjoyed this episode more than you guys seemed to. Good for me!

Good for me! well now, I did say that I'm processing. Fact is , I'm already "catching up with it" as we squeak. Plus, I've been in a "weird, bleak head" all day. The very "non-Autumnal" weather has got a bit of something to do with it too !

Actually the best episode of the three so far this season. It's so hard to keep these characters balanced with so many of them, but they're doing a pretty good job. I don't think the show would suffer too much if they thinned the cast down a little. It's fun to watch them all come together as the story lines merge, but sometimes it feels like they can't give enough time to the stories that need more development.
Some good things:
Sylar is back, and he chewed every piece of scenery he was in. Fantastic. Nice having Candace keeping him under lock and key. Will his powers return when he fully heals? Was Candace and whoever she's working for working on a cure for people like him? Is he still stuck in an illusion? This will keep me guessing for a while.
Did I catch that right and see a tattoo - a la Nikki/Jessica - disappear from Peter's arm later in the episode. Was wondering if their contact would cause that kind of reaction. He also mentioned he wanted to kill the turncoat who tried to take the money. Peter with a Jessica streak could make Sylar look tame.
The HRG/Claire dynamic. The distrust has turned around. Now it's HRG who doesn't trust Claire. And frankly, looking at her stare him down after he sees the painting image, I'm not sure I trust her either.
Some weaker points:
The Claire/West flying scene. Come on. Trying to force a little romance when going the natural route is so much more effective. Though there will most likely be some interesting "daddy issues."
And really, that's my only real complaint about this episode.
Although I know it will be good for the story, I'm a little disappointed that certain characters, like Peter and Hiro, decided to stay where they were instead of returning to where they belong. Everybody seems to be out of their element: Peter in Ireland, Hiro in the past, Claire in highschoolland, etc.
The season is improving. Looking forward to next week, for sure.
