I am looking forward to the next ep as well.
And yes, kids do say "You look like ass". Some adults say it, too(me being one of them).

I like how they brought back the "he can see me" line from last season. Will something more be revealed? Find out in the next 40 minutes!
Edit: It's good to be right!

Guess Claire really didn't need "a lift" from Dad.
Top~Notch ep in all ways so far !
Luv Monica & her homelife too !
( plus her seeming power of making one plant look like another, right ? )

Overall, a solid episode with some great parts. I doubt it will be one of my favorites, but it had some good stuff. Once again, Sylar has some great scenes. At first I was disappointed that they hadn't killed him off last season, because of the lack of closure, but I'm really liking his plot so far. All is forgiven. Oh, and another cockroach.
I was surprised that we already have a connection to the big mystery villain (although I shouldn't have been). We'll just see if Matt's father can hold his own against Sylar as a villain.
I have no idea what to think with the new character, Monica. What's her ability? Learning stuff instantly? I don't know if they can portray that more seriously and usefully. I will admit, I had a good laugh when she saw the wrestling move, but I don't know what to think as far as a long-term character. My working theory is that she's a killer robot that Micah just reprogrammed when he hugged her.
Final note: I laughed when I found out who the father of Matt's wife's kid was. I'm sorry, I'm a jerk.

Huh ! Last week I was just in an odd head when you liked that ep better. This week I just watched a Top 3 ep & you're, if not on-the-fence, at least less then thrilled. But that's what's amazing about first exposures : to albums , movies , whatever. Your head at-the-time doesn't always predict your eventual assessment .

Rare night when I could catch one live! Very good episode. Some points I ponder: * Sylar will be the key to us finding out what the twins can do - or at least our first rough outline, I'm guessing. Still trying to figure out if his powers are in remission or if they're gone and he has to start over somehow. Still, loved that menace showing through by the end of the episode. * I liked the Monica character, as well as the power. I really think they can find some interesting things to do with this. Interesting to see just how well - or if - she can master her ability. My working theory is that she's a killer robot that Micah just reprogrammed when he hugged her. * I had this same kind of impression. But is there also the possibility that Micah is somewhat like Sylar and kind of "understands" how things work? And him touching Monica as they hugged before he talked about fixing her dreams mirrors how he touches machines before he "understands" them and ultimately controls them. * Loved that we got to see the group picture and the Matt's dad being the nightmare man, at least as it seems to sit right now. And that Bob guy is part of it, too. I'm still interested in Kaito's power, as it's never really been addressed, though I have a theory. *The last scene with Matt, Mohinder and Molly (that's a lot of M's) was surprisingly effective. Molly "calling" for Matt and his reaction were quite intense. Actually liked that they took a break from Peter and Hiro, though I'm now very intrigued by the Bob/Jessica part of Mohinder's story and missed them in this episode. Oh well, there's always next week.

Better than last weeks outing anyway...
Anyone else notice the paintings in the quick-flashes near the end of the episode with the symbol on it? They were the same kind of paintings that dead guy did in Season 1.

Mmmh.
Well I've just rewatched the bulk of it , and I wasn't merely high. It's a top-tier ep . . this is my thread so now it's officially true !
So many big advancements :
Nathan & Parkman , Parkman's father
Angela's "confession"
Claire & West becoming close
Sylar using his real name, while bashing heads old-style
etc.
But I was particularly struck by a couple very subtle moments , both w/ Claire & West.
When they're talking outside school , leading into the "I'll back off tomorrow, if ", West says " it's these marks on my neck, I told you , it was a guy in horn-rim glasses" Claire > "it's my Dad . . . ( perfect pause ) . . .he's just really over-protective"
Or , when sitting on top of the Hollywood sign >
West -" I can't help you if you don't trust me " . . . and as they gaze in mounting feelings shared , he doesn't even lean in , it's like his skin shifts...ya' know ? Imperceptible, but well directed and paced.
Even our new gal Monica , as the robber goes to the register & the camera comes around her , she does a great, subtle transformation from fear-shook to resolute & inspired.
many the wonderful touch & advancing stories !

I guess the biggest thing I didn't love about the episode was Monica's story. It wasn't "bad," but it just didn't really grab me. Like I said, I will need to be convinced about it in the upcoming episodes. Aside from that, I liked it a lot.
Also, I meant to mention that I like the way Claire's story is going as well. I like the story, even though I don't feel too much empathy for Claire right now. I'm looking forward to seeing her lies/cover-ups for West all come around and bite her, especially whenever West finds out about who Noah is.

Based on the announcer, I assumed I was supposed to recognize Kristen Bell. I didn't.

She's a refugee from Veronica Mars, which I never watched. Come to think of it, I think the "next week" promo that showed her Monday night was the first time I actually saw what she looked like. I'm interested to see what she brings to the game.

Damn , I know Katie's watching for the first time to see her fave Kristen Bell , and I can't help seeing this ep thru " a stranger's eyes" Unoriginal lines like "everything will be ok" weren't helping, but I think I'm getting past that perspective. Monica's like a Charlie variation. And Parkman's Dad is truly opening doors.... literally !
plus those great "Heroes" moments like Nathan's " I'm not a cargo-jet"
or > "Dear Ando . . . . it's a common name"

Another solid episode. I really liked the way Matt's father messed with Matt and Nathan's minds, going from an unshaven degenerate to someone who might meet my expectations as a villain. The editing when Matt and Nathan were fighting was great.
Also, next week: Mr. Bennett has to do bad things! Hooray!
