Just a few days ago, a friend of mine were watching some RiffTrax, and one of them was the Island of Dr. Moreau. She had never seen the movie, but stated she's a fan of the book and Val Kilmer hasn't been in a good movie for a long time. She's heard me talk about this "must be seen" movie before, so we popped it in. Of course, we laugh our asses off at both Brando and Kilmer and marveled at how bad the movie was.
For the past week, we've been quoting it to each other...
"THAT IS THE LAW!"
"There must be god...number...one."
"And THEN...!"
Now, today I was at my job at a Wal-Mart in Nampa, and she was at her job in Eagle (a small hardware store). So I get this text message...
"You're never gonna flapjacksing believe who's here!"
I reply:
"Who?"
"AND THEN!"
"Batman?!"
"Yep!"
You heard it folks. Val Kilmer, who lives here in Idaho and we were making fun of not 5 days prior, stopped off in Eagle to pick something up for his deck at home. I told her "Shout out OMG IT'S MICHAEL KEATON!" but she wouldn't do it.
She said he was "snotty but kinda quiet."

When I was working at the college, there was another student assistant who worked for the maintenance crew. He was telling me a story about how he saw Hulk Hogan at a restaurant. When he tried to talk to Hogan, he went ballistic about not getting a modicum of privacy.
I tend not to believe his story and, to be brutally honest, I tend not to believe a story of seeing Val Kilmer going to a hardware store.

Believe what you want, doesn't keep me up at night. She has no reason to lie to me, and I'm just sharing what she told me, and I do know he lives not far from here. I have no reason to doubt.

In truth I doubt there's even an Idaho, who'd beleive such a State? But just in case it's a real place -wink wink, nudge nudge- and Val comes into Wal-Mart, ask him how he liked working with Brando so that I can have something exclusive to write about in that other thread. Other than that, very cool. I bet he just loves Batman jokes too

Batman needs hardware, just like everyone else.

and Val comes into Wal-Mart, ask him how he liked working with Brando so that I can have something exclusive to write about in that other thread. I would, but Kilmer's reputation for being a douchbag would kind of make me afraid to talk to him, let alone bring up Dr. Moreau, which I hear was a nightmare for everyone involved. I've even heard rumors that there was bad blood between Kilmer and Brando (something about Kilmer getting the original director fired, and Brando taking objection to it), I don't know how much truth there is to it, though. But look up Dr. Moreau on the net. There's plenty of behind the scenes trivia that will make an excelent discussion piece.

Yeah the stories on that one are legendary.
I'd be afriad to ask Val questions too, saw an interview a while back where he got pissy about a Batman question, so I'd avoid it in customer/empolyee situation at all costs. lol

"Man, you look kind of like that actor guy, Val Kalmer or something, except your face is kind of chunkier. I've heard he's kind of a douche though!"

"Man, you look kind of like that actor guy, Val Kalmer or something, except your face is kind of chunkier. I've heard he's kind of a douche though!" Lolled at that, Captain. I would've asked, "Can I get your autograph, Mr. Bacon?" I once waited on Johnny Carson at the BOAT/US store I worked at. When he offered me a $20.00 tip at the end, I refused it! (What an idiot. So what if that against store policy!) Especially since I later started embezzling money from that same store...

In truth I doubt there's even an Idaho, who'd beleive such a State? I've spent years trying to dispell this urban legend, with little success.

Should this be the "I or a friend of mine met a celebrity!" thread? Just in case it is, I had the pleasure of serving Jerry Stackhouse (guard for the Dallas Mavericks) in the drive-thru a few years back at my old job. Really nice guy! Had a huge order, though. $40 worth of stuff at a fast food place, right before closing, is a tough order to fill. And Nicholas Sparks, the author, is a local whom I have seen multiple times at our local Target. Can't comment one way or the other on his personality.

Why in the world would anyone want to admit to meeting Val Kilmer?
