And why not?
I'll be in Chicago during the first week of March. I'd be happy to commit an evening to meet any of you face-to-face.
I'd also be happy to organize the place and time, but I need to know who's interested. This will most likely need to be a weeknight between the 6th and 9th of March.
So speak now, or it'll just be me and mummi, and we'll just spend the whole evening making fun of you.

I'm definitely interested, of course. And it'd be a hoot if no one else showed up. We'd just sit around, brag about how much we've read, how much smarter we are than everyone else, and generally stir up one big cloud of smugness.
The 9th won't work for me. The rest is cool.

Is your funeral on the 9th?

Is your funeral on the 9th? You got dark fast. Go get some happy hippy healing in Change's Corner.

I'd be interested.
But between my hectic college class schedule, and the fact that I fear people seeing my hideous visage in public...I'm not sure if I could make it. I'd push for it, but still...Chicago on a school night...hmm...

So it looks like it will be just mummi and I, with caapie possibly making an appearance.
I think you both live in the south suburbs, correct? I'll be in the far north suburbs, but we can find a place halfway.
I know there's a Dave & Buster's in Schaumburg. Or, for a more authentic Chicago experience, we could set up a meet along Michigan Avenue or near Grant Park.

I am already jealous of the discussions you guys will have.
If work & $ permitted, I would sooooo be there.
Oh well...choke on a bottlecap for me!

Sounds fun.
There's this little Mexican place I always try to hit when I'm at Chicago (recommended by friends when I went to church there over a decade ago), but I doubt it'd make the most authentic meeting place.

I'm going to give this one last bump.
Anyone in or near Chicago that wants to join up for a mini-board meet, now's your chance to get in on it.

It could rock the city, from what I'm hearing. Rock it inside out.
