So I went to the last two CT shows at Largo Hollywood (Wednesday night's "The Alien Factor" and last night's "East Meets Watts"), and had a fantastic time! I had to leave immediately after Wednesday's show, but stuck around last night for a quick meet-and-greet and to get some autographs. While Joel was signing my copy of MST3K Vol. XIV, I asked him about when the next DVDs were coming out. He said there would definitely be a release prior to Thanksgiving, and that "Alien Factor", "East Meets Watts" and "Danger on TIki Island" were going to be the next three releases. He also said that "East Meets Watts" would be the first of the three to be released, so we have that to look forward to! As for the shows, both had laughs-a-plenty, but I preferred "Alien Factor" to "Watts". In fact, "Alien Factor" may be the best CT I've seen to date, either live or on DVD. "Watts" was okay, but kind of wore me out with the deluge of PC-challenged Asian and Blaxploitation jokes. Not that it offended me, but it just became a little one-note after awhile. They also tended to flub more lines during that one, which I suppose is forgivable since it was the last night of 5 straight nights of riffing! "Alien Factor" was definitely a keeper, though. Highly recommended when it comes out on DVD! I had meant to ask Joel about Jollyfilter, and if there was any way to see that "Rollercoaster" test online with audio...unfortunatley, I was so starstruck I forgot.

So did Joel say if they would be "live" or "studio" DVDs?

The email club did say they were shooting while they were in LA. Were they shooting the shows? Also, in this interview before the LA shows, it sounds like they're not all on the same page about a live recording, so it's unlikely they're doing them this time around. but Joel does float the notion of trying to do it so you can toggle the audience audio.

I didn't see any kind of camera setup recording the Largo shows.

Were these the shows with the guests? I heard Maria Bamford joined them on one night and I was wondering if anyone saw her. Did she riff with the movie or do some opening standup? I always liked her and thought she'd be great as a guest riffer on a Rifftrax.

Well, obviously the prior to Thanksgiving thing didn't happen. And now we know East Meets Watts will be a live version and not a studio one. Any word if this will be out before Christmas? (I guess I can go to their site and ask).

No explanation as to why she didn't show. (I must say, I don't know who she is, so I didn't think much of it at the time.)

She's the one who played fiddle in a skit on MSTs Bloodlust. I think she's a riot. Too bad she didn't show. And thank you for the answer. appreciate it
