how many people remember this game? this game came out when I was in grade school I remember one half day I rushed home my friend came over and we played it for hours trying to figure out what to do. Riven was the same way, I never played the other games in the Myst series the "scary" intro www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKCawALGeXw

Awesome game. Gorgeous-looking, too. But HARD (especially Riven)! I remember getting frustrated by some puzzles quite a bit. :-) They have recently re-released it as a DRM-free download on Good Old Games. It hasn't aged too well but it's still fun to play. There's also a 3D remake of the game called Real Myst. You'll find that on Good Old Games as well.

I think the other Myst games are well worth playing, especially Myst 3: Exile.
There's also an MMO called Myst Online: Uru, which you can download from mystonline.com. And it's donation only for the time being.

Yup, I remember. Oregon trail was better in my opinion.

As a long-time player of the Zork text adventures, I gave Myst a try, after all I likely owed it a debt of gratitude for proving that the adventure game genre could keep going and putting Return to Zork on the shelves.
I found Myst challenging. A bit easy compared to some things, but challenging.
Then I tried Riven. And that's when I met my match. I've not tried that game for...three years ago was probably my last attempt at it. And since I refuse to check guides for things, I'm probably not going to do much better the next time I dust it off.
But man, it's fun.
