GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! Futurama is back on the air after years in cancellation exile! The adventures of the Planet Express crew are now calling Comedy Central their new home, and their later time slot is probably close to (if not THE) slot they were originally intending for with Fox way back in '99, when the show was born onto our (mostly entirely) tube screens. The creators had long said their show was made for a different audience, an audience perhaps a bit more open to the morally questionable and risque than Fox was.
I don't think the quality has dropped significantly in the downtime, either. The worst things ever were was Bender's Game, but even that was quite funny. Long story short, it was never bad, but when it was "bad", "bad" for them would've still been pretty high quality for most other shows.
It's almost as if they were never gone at all. And I'm thankful the quality didn't drop off.
So, what did everyone think?

Oh boo, I was going to watch it on hulu.com tonight, but apparently they're not streaming full episodes.

I liked the first episode with the robot-rebirth switcheroo. My favorite line was from Hermes: "Ahhh! I'm covered in placenta! Good thing it's casual Friday."
The second episode, eh, not so much. I love me some Zap, but he seemed out of character.
One thing is certain: I'm glad they're back. I missed Scruffy.

I agree the first one was better but I liked both. They needed less naked Zap and more naked Leela.

The Transcredible Adventures of Zap Brannigan was quite possibly my favorite part of both episodes.
It's kind of an idea they originally wanted to do on the show when it was first running, wherein Zap had a show about himself on television where he had creative control. I think they wanted to call it "Futuramarama". I can't remember which commentary they mentioned it, but I think it was somewhere in season three or four.

I really thought Bender's dancing was gonna get old after a few minutes but I actually found it funnier the more it went on.
I missed this show I'm glad it's back.

I just watched them and I didn't like them, they just didn't 'feel' like Futurama, more like the simpsons over the last few years

I'm just thankful it's back! Not the best episodes of the show ever but funny enough and I'm confident it'll get back to the heady heights it hit during the original run
