As requested by Fathermushroom.
Which characters who survived the film did you want to see dead at end.
I have to go with Rick the jerk boyfriend in Pod People. He was begging to have Trumpy rip his head off and it never happened. What the heck Trumpy? You killed the Andy Travis look-alike but not that guy.

Rick is a good one, besides him two immediatly stand out for me right now.
Moon in The Beatniks: I KILLED THAT FAT BARKEEP! I Couldn't stand him and was hoping he would die at the end of the final fight but he didn't. Just going to jail was too good for him.
Whatney Smith in Outlaw: CABOT! CABOT! God he was annoying and a sleezeball. I really wanted him to die.
If I can think of any others I'll post them.

JACK ELAM! I mean, the townspeople are pummelin' Big Stupid....Elam's character confesses....do they go even worse on him? NOOOOOOOOOO! They just stand there, look embarrassed ('oops, we've hurt the wrong guy'), then gently & civily arrest Elam. After all that venom over Gloria...you'd think Elam would've been pulverized. There's seems to be a strong homoerotic subtext in this film, which certainly explains this....It's the 50s and folks were prudes. The Hayes code could only allow so much. Perhaps the Dugan/Danny thing was an implied relationship....with Gloria thrown in to throw folks...and...censors off....which explains the idea of Big Stupid's reluctance, Gloria's death (rather than be rescued by Dugan & live 'Happily Ever After') and the folks reaction to Elam's confession. So Bix 'Big Stupid' Dugan's true 'love interest'...though never openly mentioned in the movie...was Danny!

I hated Rick too and was disappointed he didn't get his comeuppance.

Dr. Z doesn't die at the end, in fact, he lures Martha into the deep ocean! WTF, movie?

Are we allowed to choose characters who couldn't die because it would have totally wrecked the story, or is this a thread just for unlikable characters whose lack of death violated some standard trope like the sexpot not being killed in a horror movie? (Rick from Pod People is a great example of this)
Because man, John Agar. Every single time. In fact, I have a huge list of smug annoying bastard protagonists that I could use here.

Most of the cast of Attack of the the Eye Creatures. Especially the perverted servicemen.

When I suggested the idea, I was certainly thinking of Watney Smith from "Outlaw." He richly deserved it, but I guess he was sort of the comic relief and those dudes almost NEVER get it (except for poor Joe in "Racket Girls").

I can just picture Troy going down in a hail of bullets at the end of Final Sacrifice. Guys in black ski masks patting each other on the back. That would have been sweeeeeeet!

I don't think understand what you're asking. As long as the character (Not actor) didn't die and you really thought he had it coming than it's an acceptable answer I forgot to mention the 2 delivery men in The Crawling Hand. They're supposed to be moving this poor woman's dead body to the funural parlor and they stop to raid her fridge for beer. Then when they're entrusted with delivering the Crawling hand to nasa they're told not to open the box, and what do they do? They open the damn box. They were asking for it and it never happend. Tsk Tsk.

I have a hard time thinking of any characters from Hobgoblins that I wanted to see survive. Whittling it down to merely one is almost impossible. I guess the old security guard is the only one I didn't mind being alive at closing credits.

I don't think understand what you're asking. As long as the character (Not actor) didn't die and you really thought he had it coming than it's an acceptable answer. Just wondering, because there are a ludicrous number of protagonists I could answer here that would have totally destroyed the movie's story. For example, John Agar dying in Revenge of the Creature, which I would have loved, would have changed that movie so dramatically that it wouldn't be recognizable. Compared to substituting Rick for Andy Travis in Pod People, which amazingly would have done no damage to the narrative at all. Plus, Rick's death would have followed the trope that says that the jerk who cheats and treats almost literally everyone in the film badly dies before the end. So if we're not going to worry about the effect it might have on the plot... Lance Fuller in The She Creature. Adam Chance in Agent for H.A.R.M.Kenny in Gamera and Johnny in Time of the Apes. Crapout in Sidehackers. (which could have been done with no harm to the film) Paul Anka in Girls Town. Neo in Robot Holocaust. Actually, pretty much everybody in Robot Holocaust. Zachary Taylor in Soultaker, if for no other reason than his *not* dying was so ludicrous. John Beck in It Lives by Night. I'd better stop here for now.
