Hey folks! I was watching "The Mole People" for the first time the other day, and during the scene where the Mole Folk kidnap the scientists, there's a bit of a revealing mistake. When one of the Molemen leans in and thrusts a bag on one of the scientists heads, the stunt guy playing the Moleman enters the frame and you can clearly see that he's NOT wearing his Moleperson mask, although his eyes, nose, and mouth have been blackened with makeup so the movie audience wouldn't be able to see their faces when they WERE wearing their masks.
Despite how obvious a goof this was, Mike and the Bots never seemed to notice it at all, which was even more strange. So, with that in mind, this topic is are there any movies that MST has riffed were there have been obvious goofs and blunders on the film maker's end that never got riffed on by the guys?

I'm always gonna go with the obvious "stuntman in a wig" scene in Bloodlust, when Betty and Jeannie are cornered in the headboiling room. Betty does a couple feints and than duck-and-rolls the guy into the acid bath. It's quick, but if you watch, it's definitely a (larger) man in a Betty wig doing the stunt, than very quickly ducking down behind the the tub.

During the alien spaceship's first attack on Tokyo in Invasion of the Neptune Men where, despite the scene taking place at night, one shot in the sequence switches to daylight.
Most likely they were so overwhelmed by the rest of that horrible film to notice or comment on it.

SPACE MUTINY:
When "Rick Springfield" falls to his death...he hits the ground while "Starburst blood" oozes from his mouth....his glasses fall off....cut to Kalgan & his villianous laugh....cut back to Steve getting TPed....BUT HIS GLASSES ARE BACK ON!!!!....Crow mentioned the TP....but not the GLASSES!!!!
....and of course, you have the whole "swiped footage from the original Battlestar Galactica" bit (though that one's been covered to death....)

I'm always struck by the odd young woman who comes in in Prince of Space to take down the telescope (and she shows up again somewhere, if I'm remembering right) when Johnny and his friends come back inside. She's not introduced, ever mentioned, and yet her intruding into the shot is so obvious and unnecessary that it doesn't feel as if she's a member of the crew inadvertantly blundering into the movie. At first I thought she was Doctor Macken's housekeeper, but the complete lack of acknowledgment of that character led me to believe that she's a possible "crew in shot".

I read this somewhere before so I had to see for myself. In Time Chasers, near the begining, Nick's on the phone and if you look, the wallpaper is not only on the walls, it's on the ceiling as well. Wha?

Yeah and she doesn't look like a crew member. Most stage-hands (even back then) would probably wear T-shirts and jeans.

Well, it is a serial that's been spliced together into a movie - maybe all of her other scenes didn't make it into the "film," leaving this single, orphaned appearance.

I find it an incredible mistake that Hobgoblins even got made. I'm sorry, that's all I have right now.

I find it an incredible mistake that Hobgoblins even got made. I'm sorry, that's all I have right now. LOL I know they mention it in the episode guide (so I'm not sure if it really counts) but one of my favorite things ever is Hugh Beaumont laughing at Sid Melton being hauled up the cliff in Lost Continent. It's so obvious, and like they say in ACEG, he doesn't even try to hide the fact that he's laughing. Another thing that isn't really a MISTAKE per say, but just kind of struck me as odd, is in Boggy Creek II after the story of the old dude being attacked on the side of the road, when Charles B. Pierce says that he never regained consciousness and was never able to tell anyone what happened to him. Um, then how do you know enough to build an entire flashback scene around it? How do you even know it was the creature? It may have been timing because they cut to commercial right afterward, but still. Carry on.

Oh, like CSI, they took his muddy clothes and fully extrapolated a back story. They had met their limit of UFO back stories, so they went with bigfoot this time ;D
