Thanks to this thread, I went back and watched Overdrawn at the Memory Bank last night.
In the past couple of weeks, I've been struggling to get through episodes featured in MJ's Halloween-a-thon. For example, The Slime People took 2 or 3 nights to get through (I kept falling asleep). Samson vs. the Vampire Women was especially dreary and took me the better part of a week.
I made it through Overdrawn... with no problems at all. The movie & riffing engaged me the whole way.
I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

I wanted to see them do more extremely low budget films like "The Final Sacrifice" or "Manos."

Agreed about kiddie movies, or even more holiday movies. But I'd imagine those might be pretty limited...
I don't remember them doing many comedies besides Catalina Caper, but more of those might have been good.

I would have liked a few more 70s made for tv movies or a couple of tv eps thrown together as a movie, those were great. A couple more eastern european flicks would have been good too.

I agree with ArtCrow about the 70s TV movies. I also liked the 50s Jungle adventure movies they did (Jungle Goddess, The Lost Continent, Leech Woman) and I wouldn't have minded seeing more like that.

When I started to think about the types of movies I would have liked to see them do more of, I realized that I really couldn't break it down and decided I'd really just like them to do more episodes.
I mean, I'd love more 50's mad scientist movies.
But then I realized that the Monster-rampage movies would be a lot of fun too.
And goofy 70s cheese would be a good vein to mine again.
But let's not forget James Bond ripoffs.
And the micro-budget-with-heart episodes were also great whenever they showed up.
Although I think I could say that I wouldn't be quite as thrilled if they did more recent films with a sense of their own badness, and thus had an irony about it. I think earnestness really made a difference in a lot of the episodes.
That said, that Mad Scientist Week Special that the THIS Network is currently advertising looks to have plenty of great films MST3k could have done.

70's cheese, in color. Specifically any Sci-Fi, or made-for-tv superhero-type stuff.

Paul Chaplin wrote in the ACEG that they were going to do " Master Ninja III" and I wish they had (for obvious reasons). Two more Master episodes of the odd couple, Van Cleef and Van Patten. Others I would love to have seen: "From Hell It Came" "Speedtrap" "Unknown World"

More bleak 30's and 40's movie. I wish they were more Coleman Francis movies, a statement which would get me thrown in jail or beat up, in many places of the world. More overdrawn at the memory bank movies. Also, i adore those super cheap pathetic ones.

The kind of movie that is so earnest but in the end just makes you scratch your head and say "what were they thinking??"
