We had a topic about picking stingers for episodes that didn't have ones. Can you think of a better Stinger for a certian episode? I think the Begining of the End stinger should have been the mute assistant signing for AHHH. Much funnier than the general ordering the troops. Thoughts?

I'm sure most people would disagree with me, since the actual stinger became a catch phrase of a sort, but I always thought that in Teenagers From Outer Space, a great stinger would have been the moment where Derek says he wanted "to make the earth my home. And I will never, leave it." as if he had shot up so much heroin that he didn't have any idea where he even was.
Btw, this is one of those threads where I could have a billion different responses.

I was really disappointed that the Brains didn't use a better stinger for Riding With Death. I would have personally gone with the first bad guy (not Denby) saying "This can't be? You're deaaadd?", which is one of my favorite MST scenes ever. A close second would be Bill Sylvester's hilarious line, "OP-TI-CAL ILL-U-SIO-NNNNN!"
Another season 8 episode that needed a better stinger was Invasion of the Neptune Men. I think the "Hitler building" exploding into a million pieces would have been perfect.

Agree with both of those, cody.
As much as I love the odd "watch" shot at the end of Danger!! Death Ray, the bit with the bad guy rushing Bart Fargo only to end up diving through the window always struck me as a better stinger moment.
Also, I was always disappointed with the stinger on Manos. Almost anything else from the movie would have been better than the "why don't you leave us alone" thing. I might have gone with the shot of the wife getting dressed, then the quick cut to the shade flipping up to reveal a smiling, peeping Torgo.

Monster A-Go Go has a pretty lame stinger despite being a hilarious episode, and a totally incompetent movie all around.
I would have went for the "phone ring" gag as a stinger.

When Season 10 was being broadcast, a friend and I had a friendly wager about who would be able to guess the most stingers, which had some added fun in that we came up with a lot of situations in most of the films that we thought would be great stingers. Since I posted my list online, here are some of them.
Soultaker: -"Led Zeppelin got it wrong; there's no stairway to heaven."
Girl in Gold Boots: -Michelle screaming "I want to be a dancer!", especially followed by Critter's look at Buz that I think was intended to signify forlornness, when in fact it signaled more "what the hell was THAT?"
Merlin's Shoppe of Mystical Wonders: -"Don't I get a kiss?" "You'll get a whole lot more than that if you don't hurry up!" -- She's threatening him with sex!
Future War: -Jean-Claude Gosh-darn rising up, eyes and jaw unhinged, from amongst the freight boxes to throw an obviously empty cardboard box at Kazja, who easily punches it out of the way. - "Captain Polaris!"
Blood Waters of Dr. Z - Black scientist buys it by being pressed to death. - Sheriff and Fish-Who's-Taking-Over-The-World engage in the Lambada. - Redneck kids on porch, a prelude to a kiss "Are you scared?" "Me? Nuh-uh. Come on."
Boggy Creek II - Trooper Williams is assaulted by "The Little Creature". - Doc Lockhart: "I smell yeh!" - Doc Lockhart, knees bent, butt protruded, stomach all pooched out, jumps over a log. - Crenshaw: "That there's a man's kind of woman."
Track of the Moon Beast - "Kathy, what's that?" From the scene where Paul was hit by the meteorite - Paul lunging on Kathy, with her asking "what happened?" - "PAUL IS NOT PAUL ANYMORE." - And of course, "It's got a lot of things: chicken, corn, green peppers, chili," *existential sigh* "onions. Well, it's an old recipe around here." *giggle*
Despite it being an obvious stinger, and the one we both guessed, I'm somewhat surprised they didn't do anything with Johnny Longbow, considering how much they enjoyed the character and considering how many times they called back his stew.
Final Justice -Joe Don tries valiantly to net the runaway gangster dressed as a monk. - "The last thing a sausage sees." - Pretty Maltese policewoman arrives at a bar brawl: "Stop this fighting!"
Hamlet - I thought for sure, despite their extensive use of it in their sketch, that it would be the start of the "To be or not to be" soliloquy.
It Lives By Night - Our hero has a choking orgasm in the hot tub, so much like his fit that was the actual stinger.
Horrors of Spider Island - "Gary! ...Gary..." - "There's no reason to fear the worst. All we know is that the plane caught fire and that we've lost radio contact."
Squirm - The Kevin-McHale girl opens up to door to an avalanche of worms.
I didn't make one for Diabolik, but I do think the ludicrous dancing montage signifying Valmont's licentious club, with the guy "trying way too hard", would've been a good one.
I'm sure I'll mention more from the previous seasons should this thread continue.

It's funny, but the first time I saw Beginning Of The End, I guessed that scene would be the stinger. The way the sargent says "Okay, men, *sigh* into the woods" and they all just...walk off. Into the woods. The most casual patrol ever. You don't want to assign point or anything? Okay, I guess you know your business.

Attack of the Eye Creatures is my all-time favorite episode, but I always thought the stinger was weak. Nothing is really happening. . .I guess it's just because it's a full shot of the greasy guy in the pajama dress. There were a number of better stinger choices from the film, but I think I would have preferred the clip of old man Bailey ranting about "those blasted smoochers on my property!"

In Swamp Diamonds: A-nyeh-neh-nyeh-nyeh-nyuh!
I think "Flag on the moon" would a good stinger in the beast of yucca Flats would be good. Maybe the Brains had a rule about not using narration.

The Hobgolins Stinger was pretty lame. I would have liked the scene where the military guy did that wierd thrust and his girlfriend did that wierd dance.
A friend of mine always said the Girl in Gold Boots stinger should have been the Ringo Star look alike going "Nobody's gonna be working in this town again... Baby" The way he paused seemed so unnatural.

Daddy-O's stinger should have been the "Want some...?" [SMACK, THUMP] "I want an answer!" exchange. I know they dedicated a sketch to it, but it just cracks me up.

I always thought the stinger for Monster A Go-Go should have been the start of the ending narration. ("Suddenly, there was no monster...")

MANOS: "My nAme IS TOrGo! I cAre OF thE PlAce whIle thE MAstEr IS AwAY!"
GAMERA VS. ZIGRA: That weird old hermit, laughing.
GAMERA VS. GUIRON: Gamera does his Mary Lou Retton routine.
