I play a lot of these to kill time. Yes, I know that means I'm old.
I really enjoy the hidden object and three-swap varieties. There's a company called Playrix that has become one of my favorites for its concepts and good artwork. I play on BigFish and Pogo to try out new games too.
What are some of your favorites? Or for balance, why do you dislike them?

I've killed plenty of time with PopCap stuff. But I'm usually too busy with REAL games. REAL MAN GAMES.

Didn't know where to put this, it's not really something important. But, just thought I'd mention it. I download Wild Tangent games sometimes when I'm bored. I can try new games out for free for the first time I play them. I was playing one of those hidden object mystery games (from Big Fish), it was called Off the Record: The Italian Affair, and one of the characters names was Carlo Lombardi.

Nice! I'm guessing there wasn't a "tickle me" aspect to the character, but it's always cool to see homages made. On the subject of casual games, I don't know if these count as "casual" as much as hidden object things do, but I've been playing lots of Plants vs. Zombies 2 and Hearthstone lately.

Best casual game I've found recently has been Mini Motorways. It's not free, but it's a whole lot of fun and challenging while being super easy to pick up (but maybe not put down). Basically just connect houses on a map to businesses that also appear on the map with roads. It grows more and more until you're battling traffic and trying to keep things running smoothly! Hug your local urban planner!
