As a huge fan of the Monkey Island series, I always tried to get my hands on a Sam & Max game (w/o spending much cash ) but always failed. So I don't have any personal experience but I thought they looked pretty funny.

A Sam & Max game? There's only one (though this marks the third attempt at a sequel).
Yeah, it's not very easy to get your hands on nowadays. If you see one for a decent price on ebay, grab it and play it through SCUMMVM. It's a hoot.

I had forgotten if there were one or two from the "classic" era. I had high hopes for the last cancelled sequel, so we'll see what happens here.

Sam & Max Hit the Road remains one of the top 3 greatest games ever made IMO.
