Howdy folks, I need your help!
In about 4 hours I'll be a charming host to a very lovely lady and will be introducing her to MST3K. She's never seen a whole episode before, only bits and pieces, and is interested in watching a few with me. She has a great sense of humor and is interested in the show, so I'm not afraid she won't, "get it," but I don't want to burn her our on something horrible and boring.
SO, here's my dilemma, what to show? I have almost all the officially released volumes on DVD (minus the two that got pulled from shelves), no bootlegs, so I've got a variety to pick and choose from.
I was thinking starting off with "The Magic Voyage of Sinbad," a nice strong, hilarious Joel era episode. Shows of the show at it's early best while Joel was still on, and it just got released. Pure GOLD!
Next I wanted to follow up with a killer Mike/Comedy Central episode, but I'm having problems deciding. I don't want to choose something that's boring as hell movie wise. I also want sometihng where the riffing is strong. Any suggestions? I was leaning towards "Bloodlust," possibly "Night of the Bloodbeast."
Next, I wanted to follow up with a bit of a MST sorbet, and showcase one of the shorts volumes, probably volume one since Tom is tying them all together.
FINALLY, I want to end on a strong note, and the door is open. Should it be Joel, an early Mike/Comedy Central, or a Mike/Sci-Fi? I do NOT want to toture her with "Manos," yet. Maybe it's time to bring in Santa? Via either "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians," or, "Santa Claus." Or should I go a different direction?
SO, that's what I got. If you guys could help me out and make date night killer, I'd appreciate it alot!
Marc
