I've been using Firefox for some time now and I know it's supposed to be safer for spyware and stuff but often when I click on a thread page it will often highlight it but not open it. In the lower left taskbar it say "Done.' But it's not done, it doesn't open the thread! Sometimes I have to click it two or three times. I thought it was a maybe a dial up thing but I now have DSL and it still does it. At the moment I'm using IE and so far it hasn't done it. I know Firefox is supped to be safer so I'll keep using it but on a daily basis I don't find it works better.
Anyone else have this "done" thing happen with Firefox?

Phantom, I've used Firefox, but mostly use Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2.
I've never had a problem with Firefox. My partner uses it all the time, and has never had a problem. It could be a security setting somewhere.

Sometimes I have a similar issue, I click a link but it isn't followed. Like you have, I click it again and wait. I hadn't noticed the "done" part, but I would guess it means it's done on the page you are currently viewing. Even if this is an issue, I'll stay with Firefox.

I haven't noticed this either. I've been using Firefox for a couple of years now.

Firefox isn't always up to date with various JavaScript things, so if the things are somehow part of a JavaScript routine with various circumstances (that I of course don't understand), things like that happen.

This'll happen with Firefox sometimes if the website is more recent than your version of Firefox. It just quits on code that it doesn't know.
But for the record, this isn't a Firefox exclusive problem. IE and Netscape will do this as well.
*Hugs his AOL software*

Affy, I'm afraid AOL is a cult. You need to be deprogrammed. (It's a cross between Landmark Education and the Branch Davidian Cult.)

Affy, I'm afraid AOL is a cult. You need to be deprogrammed. (It's a cross between Landmark Education and the Branch Davidian Cult.) I was going to viciously flame Affy for his beliefs in AOL, and willingly risk my status as not only an Admin but also a member of these very boards, totally ready to be shunned and removed by my peers. But your words are wise and true. And they have stopped me from lashing out. Dissuaded me with their honesty and by making a point in a civil enough manner that I never would have dared. You saved me from making a regrettable mistake and I thank you.

Yes, yes. Cult.
It may be that AOL fails to function properly on every other computer in the world. But for some unexplainable reason, I never see these errors that plague other Internet users so. Regardless of *your* experiences with my cult, I'll keep using it until it's worse for me than an average trip on some other service.
Flame away, though. I'm used to it by now. The Internet's full of nonbelievers.

The Internet's full of nonbelievers. That's what Jim Jones said as he passed out the Kool-Aid. ADDED: And every time I see the title of this thread, I think, Caribou, "Gone!" for reasons that should be more than obvious by now.
