As an apology for taking so long with his next album, Al has started offering a song for free download on his website, www.weirdal.comI downloaded it last night and listened this morning. Love it!

That's not a parody to anything is it? I'm proud to say I can't identify today's popular songs anymore, so I can't tell.

He's apologizing for taking so long with his album? After losing his parents in that carbon monoxide accident the way he did??? I'm amazed he's not still taking some time off, bless his heart.

Heard it on ytmnd this morning. I loved it. The main reason is because my wife loves the original (by "James Blunt" I think) and I hate it. When we get home tonight I'm gonna rub this in her face. lol

The album was supposed to be released on June 27th. But then it got hung up for unspecified legal reasons.

So, another reason he doesn't owe anyone an apology.

Just heard it, great parody.
I was reading up on it and apparently, the reason its being released online for free is because James Blunt is a douche and decided that he didn't want to share royalties with Weird Al on the song.

YES! YES!!! I hate that song! Thank you Weird Al! Man when he did the spoof of the song starting too early I nearly died laughing.

I'm amazed he's not still taking some time off, bless his heart. I'm sure he's bound by contract to make his albums (not to say he doesn't enjoy doing them). When that mp3 popped up on Wednesay I was thrilled. The guy's still thoroughly entertaining. You didn't ask, but among my favorite Al songs are "Good Old Days" and "You Don't Love Me Anymore."

I always look forward to his "style" parodies more than his song parodies.
His best stuff are his originals done in the style of an artist.
Like: "You Make Me" (Oingo Boingo) "Everything You Know is Wrong" (They Might Be Giants) "Mr. Popeil" (B-52s) "Velvet Elvis" (The Police) "Genius in France" (Frank Zappa) "Dog Eat Dog" (Talking Heads) "Dare to be Stupid" (Devo)
He has an incredible band and he's a phenomenal musician. Too bad the masses just know him as the "Eat It" guy.
