I just wanted to let all the South Park fans know I went to Casa Bonita last night.
It was the first time for my kids, and my 5 year old acted just like Cartman all night. She didn't keep a friend in a bomb shelter (as far as I know), but she did enjoy Black Bart's Cave and the cliff divers and stuffed herself with sopaipillas. It really was exactly like the show.
Just another reason to have next year's meet-up here in Denver.

Samptari, if you're listing Casa Bonita as a reason for meeting in Denver, you are your own worst enemy. Last time I was there, food poisoning was the norm, & I got caught in the salmonella shitstorm. Poor Mr. Hanky! Tell me it's only 600 miles away. Tell me I can play with my Jeep in the mountains. I'll see ya there!

Tell me it's only 600 miles away. Tell me I can play with my Jeep in the mountains. I'll see ya there! Those are also good reasons. In previous trips, I have had similar experiences with the food. However, last night it was very good. Maybe it was because I had the chicken plate instead of the beef.

Mr. Atari, did you ever listen to the commentary on the Casa Bonita episode? Nope. But I imagine they bashed the restaurant. It's definitely a tourist trap that the locals avoid. We went because we had extended family in town. I thought I would hate it (as in the past), but I had a blast seeing it through my children's eyes. They just REALLY reminded me of Cartman.

That's a pretty accurate description.
However, the cliff divers were quite impressive.

How odd, I just got season seven and watched that episode. That'd be so cute to see a kid excited like Cartman. I wanna go!

I remember going to Casa Bonita as a kid and liking it. That was up until I learned the joys of hiking in the mountains.
I'd go to Denver. I love it there.

If I'm ever in Denver I've gotta go. I had no clue that was a real place!

I feel like I'm campaigning to get the Olympics, but...
I'm not kidding about having the 2007 meet-up here.
There's a ton to do, and it's a nice air travel hub. Frontier & Southwest both fly out of here, so cheap fares are easy to find.
The only question is whether we have the meet-up during ski season or not.

I'd be up for Denver, never been there. Plus gotta meet the Samptari. You know what this means for me... At least I'm not asking about New York.
