when will the next boxed set titles be announced?

Hi All,

So I am just curious if anyone knows when boxed set 23 titles may be announced. In previous years i remember shout announcing stuff on thanksgiving or the day one set is released. I haven't heard a peep about anything and set 22 did launch today. Just curious if anyone else has a clue

Yeah things have been so hush-hush with box sets... I was sad when there was no announcement on Turkey Day, and now nothing on the day of the release. Hope to hear something soon...

I bought my XXII today at Best Buy for $36.99 (woohoo!)... but as always, I won't be watching any episodes till friday, so I can sit and really enjoy them. Hopefully the picture quality is "tape hit" free for the most part.

Yeah I too was expecting Turkey Day and then when that didn't happen I was expecting today. So who knows...I would say soon, but I don't know if that is soon as in tomm...or soon as in sometime after the new year. Soon is really relative.

Shout changing their usual annoucement schedule must mean they either are having some difficulty securing the rights to a film or have managed to secure a big license and are changing the contents of the next set at the last minute to include it. Hopefully the latter is true.

I'd say it would have to the latter if the hold up is a line up change. With the rights to Mighty Jack/Time of Apes and Brute Man on the last set, I would assume that both Fugitive Alien movies and Danger Death Ray would be shoe ins...so then you'd just have to throw in a Mike PD movie. Those are things that should have been all tied up when they did 22. So I would assume if they are delayed due to line up change, it is cause they picked up something big that they want to get it out there. But that's "if", and it could be Shout is just not on the ball at the moment.

Course then you have the fact that Brian Ward is no longer overseeing this stuff and he seemed to be the one that was making sure we knew the next set as soon as the last one got out, and the one trying to do something special on Turkey Day and dropping us hints all the time. There is a new guy in charge and maybe he doesn't understand how important those things are to the fan base yet, and thus isn't doing them. Then again his hands might be tied on this due to some rights thing that has to be cleared up before they announce. We don't know anything right now and that's kinda the problem. It just leads to totally baseless speculation....much like you have seen me do right here. =P

Not really a new guy. Jordan Fields oversaw the later rhino releases.
Plus he's cleared all the movies for MST releases.

But what I mean is that the guy that was giving us all this stuff like hints and clues and really made sure this stuff got out here...is gone. I knew Fields he had worked with Rhino, and was working on MST3K with Shout! Just he is new in his role and he may be handling it different then Brain Ward did.
