I've never been a big Mac guy, but I have an iPad. So I casually read somewhere that they made a version of GarageBand for iPad, and I've heard about it forever from various music folk. Simple recording, looping program that does some basic stuff for hobbyists.
The iPad version's also a whopping $5. And it might just be the most fun $5 I ever spent.
This little thing is amazing. I have an input for my guitar that I got from another program (iRig) which I just had to play around with, but the software that came with it was pretty meh. It was noisy, and the recording/mixing feature that came with it was pretty basic.
But GB has all the perks of that one with a bunch of options to make the input sound downright clean, at least on my decent headphones. So after two nights of just screwing around with it, I've already figured out how to make it do some pretty amazing stuff...and this is just the iPad version.
Anyone else play with these? And what about the PC "version" of GarageBand: MixCraft? Does anyone know how that goes? Just curious if any of you more "pro" or hardcore amateurs know more about this.

I do all of my demo work on GarageBand. It's definitely no ProTools, but for the flexibility of working on my own (and quickly), I like it. The more songs I record, the more I learn about using the loops so they don't sound like loops, and more mixing tricks to make it all sound less amateurish.
