Sorry for the noob Q here, but what does "tape hit" mean? Just poor quality? Or some technical jargon?
Thanks in advance for any help...

Tape hits are lines that shoot across and up and down the screen. It's a defect not already on the movie. Dead Talk Back, Lost Continent, Yucca Flats all have noticeable tape hits or "glitches" as they are sometimes called.
They bug me to distraction and have rendered some episodes unwatchable. Other folks don't seem to notice or mind them.

Ive watched each disc but last of the Wild Horses. As is always the case with me, these episodes are new to me. I'm liking this set a lot so far. Castle of Fu Manchu was hard for me, because I watched it late at night so i couldn't play it very loudly. i also had a fan going strong, which muffled some of the sound. It didn't help that Castle is an episode with a quiet movie with loud riffing. I'll definitely have to re-watch it in better listening conditions, and with the sound normalized. The bonus features are quite good. The Quinn Martin feature was short and dull, but was still nice to have. I adored their Lippert feature. I would have been happy if that went twice as long(assuming it had twice as much content). Life after mst3k was nice. Frank's intro was nice, but it sort of bothers me that they only do one of these per set. Frank was around for all four episodes on this set, so why couldnt they have had him speak briefly about each of them?
In the end, as always, I'm happy with my MST3K box set

I really need to catch up on my official volumes. Can't believe we're up in the 20s. I've had my own dvd bootlegs since before there WERE volumes (only solo releases). So I've just been buying them to have the nice releases. But dang...I'm like 10 volumes in the hole.

I'm gonna watch King Dinosaur for the first time tonight. Can't wait! If I'm not too late with this, let me just say that you'll absolutely love King Dinosaur. It's classic Lippert, with White Sands Captured V-2 Test Launch footage galore. Not to mention that the score is classic Albert Glasser; this is the movie with the incidental music that actually mocks the characters as they scramble madly for safety after setting the nuclear device on Big Lizard Island.

Ive watched each disc but Last of the Wild Horses. As is always the case with me, these episodes are new to me. I'm liking this set a lot so far. Castle of Fu Manchu was hard for me... Castle Of Fu Manchu was the first episode where the movie was so packed full of Deep Hurting that I almost couldn't get through it. The riffing was top-notch, of course, but the movie was so goddamn' piss-awful that watching it actually felt physically punishing -- and, mind you, I'm an old Christopher Lee fan from way back. If you haven't seen Last Of The Wild Horses yet, you're in for a huge treat. Awesome Star Trek parody in the host segments, and the movie riffing is quick, hot, heavy, and hilarious. Very few episodes have riff streams as heavy, solid and relentless as Last Of The Wild Horses.
