Awesome and thrilling sci-fi horror thriller from John Carpenter that is a satire on capitalism and on the Reagan era, i saw this movie in theaters 3 times when i was 7 and thought it rocked.
Shout/Scream Factory did well on the special edition blu-ray with extras and great transfer.

I love this flick, but I dig a lot of Carpenter movies. Unforgettable lines and a really great story, even if it is on the B-movie side.

Starring the one and only Rowdy Roddy Pipier. Excellent flick. I might need to check out the BD.

I do quite like They Live, but I feel about it a bit the way I feel about Idiocracy and God Bless America: It's got a great concept and it's a concept that's important to get out there, but I wish a better film had been made out of the concept.

Who else saw this in theaters besides me? I wish I had! Nearly caught it recently at the John Carpenter all-nighter in London. This isn't Carpenter's best, but it's fun and underated (like "Prince of Darkness").

I anyone cares, Roddy does a pretty good podcast from time to time.
His personal story is pretty amazing. Living on the streets alone before getting into wrestling at 15 or so. Wrestlers are his family.

I always liked Piper when he wrestled. And this movie is highly underrated IMO.

Wrestlers are his family. The commentary he did for the film with JC is pretty good, but he sounds kind of nutty. I guess I would expect no less given his wild formative years. Anyway, I love the film, have since childhood, and I think he's a decent actor and one hell of a wrestling legend.
