Please explain why they don't choose a guy who can be Pope for a long time? Like a guy in his 40's or 50's, as opposed to those who are so old, they won't be Pope for any long period of time.

i assume it's because it takes a long time to climb the ladder in the church - once you get to be a cardinal, you are already middle aged or getting past it. then you have to take into account how long you'd have to wait to be eligible to be voted in as pope. i was hoping for a younger guy too, but pope francis has good buzz so far.
