Same! except i'm more towards the middle.
This is a small thing, but I'm really liking each of the colors they chose for the spines of the DVDs this time around

Mine is listed as out for delivery so I should have mine in a couple of hours. In spite of this delay from amazon.com I noticed that Vol XXVII is now available for pre-order with a release date of July 23, 2013. So I went ahead and ordered it..

Going through the new set
Most of the episodes in this thing are mood pieces… meaning that I have to be in the right frame of mind for them. The exception being…
The Magic Sword – Never fails to tickle me, and it’s an entertaining movie to boot. It’s easily my favorite of the collection. I got a kick out of Joel’s ‘woman voice’ on some quips… something about his silly voices crack me up.
The picture on the disc is the best of the set as well, which was nice since I only had this on tape. The extra with Mr. B.I.G. was a bit dry – I knew most of what he spoke of in doing research years ago for my website.
Alien From L.A. – This one ebbs and flows. Starts off well, slows down as it goes probably because the jokes are rather 1 note (zeroing on Kathy and her voice). This was another that I only had on tape, so while they were minimal, the blips and glitches were unfortunate.
Extra was more interesting to me. From reading interviews on his Cap America flick, I kind of figured Puyen wouldn’t have wanted to watch MSTs take… though they go pretty easy on him (compared to say a Sandy Frank)
Danger Death Ray – They repeat a lot here (Ba da Ba Da Da, tease the toys, Watermelon Man, Danger,,, “fill in the blank”). It’s decent but not my favorite spy ep - I much prefer Agent from Harm and Operation 007.
Disc has a few blips and whatnot.
The Mike extra was fine. Wish we had an interview with a filmmaker for this one; I wanna to know WTH was with that watch at the end?
Mole People – Like Alien from L.A. it ebbs and flows. There are big laughs but also a lot of dead spots. This suffers the most from tape hits, though it doesn’t get as bad as Yucca Flats or Dead Talk Back…
This was the best extra on the set, good coverage and info on the movie.
Overall, while not my favorite, it’s a good collection – I was able to get rid of 2 old VHS tapes and added one of my favorite eps (Magic Sword). I could have done without the tape hits, but at least they weren’t a major distraction.
