What a great show this has been. I don't think it really had a quality drop off like The Simpsons. The most recent one parodying Saturday morning cartoons was great. I'll miss it. I just hope in the last episode they kill Zapp Brannigan.

I'm also sad this show is going away. It's always funny, and its ability to make me laugh got me through some hard times these last few years.

i was surprised when i first learned it was going off the air. i kind of thought when it first started that it would take over when they finally ended the simpsons. i'll miss it too - it had some great characters.

I haven't seen much of the newer seasons, but after seeing some of the first seasons on Netflix recently, I forgot how hilarious this show was. Yeah, sad it's going off the air now. And I think the MST3K reference they did that one time is pretty awesome, too.

The way this last half-season has gone, I'm actually glad they're closing up shop. The show became rather hit or miss after the move to Comedy Central, which is understandable. They had to trim the writing staff, and lost some good directors as well, so I'm sure they're all overworked and underpaid while trying to come up with fresh ideas.
However, there's now been five episodes in a row that I didn't care for. They're making jokes that should have been rewritten, as well as ignoring their past and the rules they set for their universe. It feels like a different show right now, and the change hasn't been for the better. I'll always love Futurama, but I'm glad it's coming to an end.

I haven't watched it a lot lately, though I like the show. My favorite episode was when they did a spoof of Willy Wonka and won a tour of the Slurm Factory and met "Slurms McKenzie". I cracked up when those Grunka-Lunkas or whatever they were called (Oompa-Loompa send-ups) started singing at the drop of a hat these stupid rhymes that made no sense, and Leela and the rest were just yelling at them to shut up.

I saw on Youtube an Evil Dead parody where the one who posted it did a crossover of Futurama and The Simpsons. If you haven't already, you gotta check it out!

I, too, am bummed that this might just be the last season and I'm holding out hope that FOX will acknowledge their mistake and resurrect the series. It would still be right at home on Sunday nights! I've really enjoyed what little I've seen of season 7 part 2 (namely "2-D Blacktop" & "Fry and Leela's Big Fling").

I've been thinking, now that Comedy Central will no longer have Futurama, maybe they could try to get another sci-fi comedy show to take it's place.
Hmmmmmm...

Ah yes, Futurama is ending. How many times have we heard that before. It's kind of like Michael Jordon retiring. It eventually happened, but he did it so many times it lost meaning.
I knew this would be the last year of the Comedy Central run when I saw the ratings numbers last year. I would have been surprised if it was renewed again after those. Sounds like Groening and company want to continue the series somehow though.
And we still have the comics.

I just got caught up, and I have to say that all my whining was premature. Since I complained about the half season, I've seen 5 or so episodes I really enjoyed, culminating with last week's Thing/Alien parody. It'll be strange seeing yet another series finale next week, having had two already. Hopefully, it's a good one.
