I remember when he was touted as "the great white hope" of the heavyweight division. That certainly is an unfair tag to put on anyone. RIP Tommy.

He was a good fighter, and Rocky V is cheesy fun. RIP.

I don't think I've ever watched Rocky V all the way through so I don't really remember him from the movie, but he was actually a pretty good fighter. He had the misfortune of fighting at a time when the heavyweight division was loaded, at least compared to today - George Foreman, Mike Tyson, Razor Ruddock, etc. If Morrison were fighting today he'd probably be standing on top of the heap.
Rest well, sir.

This is the second primary Rocky V castmember to pass on in the last few years, following Stallone's son Sage.
Can't really say a lot about him other than that. I only know him from Rocky, and all I can say is I hope he was a better boxer than he was an actor. I heard he had HIV a while back, so his passing isn't much of a surprise, though it is sad to see one go that young.

Seeing as some aren't as familiar with Morrison's boxing career I thought I'd throw this video on here. It's fan-made and the quality is not too good, but it shows why Morrison rocketed up the ranks in popularity early - he could hit extremely hard. Ray Mercer, another champ of the era and Olympic gold medalist, gave Morrison his first professional defeat (TKO). Mercer, known at the time for his granite chin, later said Morrison hit the hardest of any opponent he faced in his career.
I guess the use of Eye Of The Tiger is appropriate enough not be cliche in this case, seeing how we was actually in a Rocky movie, and all.
