Stuntman and director Hal Needham, who directed Smokey and the Bandit and The Cannonball Run died September 25th at the age of 82. Neeham, grew up the son of sharecroppers in the Ozarks and served in the Army's 82nd Airborne, before heading to Hollywood, developed devices that made stunts safer and more dynamic. Needham won a Governor's award from the Academy Awards in 2012. Throughout his long career as a stuntman Needham broke 56 bones twice breaking his back.
