 Q&A - little Debbie of Manos fame.
Jackey Raye Neyman Jones, who played Debbie in Manos: The Hands of Fate , has graciously agreed to a little Q&A with members of our discussion board. In addition to starring in the flick herself, she is the daughter of The Master himself, Mr. Tom Neyman.
Let's see if we can come up with 10-15 semi-intelligent questions to submit to Ms. Jones. No subject is off limits except the ones that are off limits. You can also check out her blog. She's got some really cool tee shirts and photos for sale. |

Did you get to watch Manos when you were young? What did you think of it?

I got a question.
TO Ms. Neyman-Jones;
A lot of folks, J&TBs included, were squicked-out by the sight of you becoming one of the Master's Wives despite being a cute little child. In the movie, was the Master supposed to be a pedophile or was he simply saving little Debbie for later when she grew up?
Also, didn't it feel kind of weird having that happen to your character when the nefarious Master was played by your dad. I know it's just acting and two were playing different imaginary people but as a CHILD, did it seem kinda...weird?
Finally do you think Mr. Warren was a weirdo for coming up with that? I'd also imagine he had issues with women.
Also, I've been reading your blog and it's a shame what happened to John Reynolds. He sounded like a sweet guy, too. Are there any known photos of Mr. Reynolds when he was not as Torgo? Also, I know J&TBs had no idea that Reynolds had been deceased for years but how you you feel when J&TBs made that riff about "He went on to do Torgo at Disney World." (If you've seen the episode, that is)?

The Masters Painting does still exist. It is in the possession of one of Hal Warrens kids. My dad, who was The Master, also created all the set design, art, costumes, sculpture, etc...including The Master's Painting.

Your questions actually inspired my last blog post. debbiesmanos.blogspot.com/I haven't seen any photos of John outside of Manos but several playbills have been found listing him as one of the actors in El Paso theater productions that also included other Manos cast members. Sounds like another good blog post idea. I'm totally cool with any riffing. I was just a kid. I'm innocent. Lol! |
