I didn't see any mention of this and didn't know where else to put it, so I'm throwing it here in General Chat. If I missed a thread on this or it's in the wrong place, admins feel free to do what you must. Josh Weinstein recently revealed through his Twitter account that he was diagnosed with cancer about a month ago. That led to the removal of one of his kidneys shortly after, but the good news is the cancer is now gone and he has recovered well enough to be doing standup recently. I just thought members of the board would like to know, if they didn't already, so they can offer up their well-wishes for a continued speedy recovery. www.twitter.com/jelvisweinsteinThe above is his Twitter account. The said tweet can be found on Feb. 8, I believe. Josh is such an important part of the MST3K legacy, and his recent illness reminds me how lucky we as fans have been that most of the cast and crew have been relatively untouched by these sorts of problems, at least that we've seen publicly. Here's hoping for good health for many years for all the beloved Brains!

Good to know he's doing better. I missed seeing him in Northampton, MA when CT did their show. Love ya, Josh!

One of the older men at work had a similar problem, they had to remove 60% of a kidney. It's great that Josh is doing good, but I don't envy the diet he's probably got to follow now.
The guy at work can only have 6 oz of meat a day, only 160mg of sodium, no coffee and all kinds of other restrictions. He's become quite creative when it comes to eating.
I had never thought about health problems with the crew and cast, mainly because it hasn't happened. I'd figure the unhealthiest one would be Frank based on his past.

Whoo, I got scared by the diagnosed with cancer part. That's horrible, but glad it was caught soon enough!

Well, I'm glad to hear he's doing better and that they caught the cancer. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

I'd figure the unhealthiest one would be Frank based on his past. That's what everyone said about Keith Richards too! Well, as we all get fat and old (I'm just a little younger than the average for the MST guys, who seem to have been born in the late 50s to early 60s -- I was born 1963, three days before Kennedy was assassinated), eventually we will start to go, if you know what I mean. In fifty years will anyone know there was ever a thing called MST3K?
