Two I haven't seen, one favorite, and another I saw in my early teens that I've almost entirely forgotten. Good stuff.
Wow, with this set it'll leave me with (checks the internet) ... 37 episodes I have not seen! 14 of those are KTMA. Wow, within a couple of years I'll have seen ever single one.
... then I'll have to watch 'em all in chronological order!!!

Complete season one! Yeah!
Other than that, one fantastic episode (Outlaw), two mediocre ones (Black Scorpion and Projected Man), and one of my least favorites (It Lives By Night...sigh). Episode wise I can't really say this is one to look forward to.

Wow! Impressive batch of episodes... two from MGM, one from Universal, and one from Warner! Hopefully I'll be able to afford to catch-up on all these sets eventually.

None of those would rank among my favorites.... but they each have their moments and I'll take any MST3K they offer.

Outlaw is really good, and I will definitely buy this set just for that. Too bad that Black Scorpion and It Lives By Night are pretty dull and The Projected Man is simply one of the most excruciatingly tedious episodes of the entire series. I guess Shout! wanted to continue the whole "Universal Monsters" theme since there were several other Universal season 8s to choose from like Agent for H.A.R.M and Riding with Death.

It would have been nice if Shout! had included Women of the Prehistoric Planet as a bonus so that us late comers could have Season 1 complete on DVD....

Kind of a letdown selection for a milestone release like Vol. XXX, but any MST3K is better than no MST3K so I'll take it.
Black Scorpion was a no-brainer...I think everyone expected that one. I've never seen it, so I'm looking forward to it, even though you can count me as being lukewarm on most Season 1 episodes.
Outlaw is the best ep on the set, and truly one of my all-time favorite episodes of the series. So that makes the whole package worth it for me.
Projected Man, as duane already mentioned, is a pointedly dull MST3k installment. The one upside of this is that my VHS copy is of the premiere, which as you know was broadcast with weird, muffled audio during the theater segments. So this will be the first time I've seen it with proper audio, which is a good thing. (Although I doubt the audio fix will change my overall opinion of this ep too drastically.)
As for It Lives By Night, I actually think this episode is pretty funny. It's a ridiculous movie which is kind of funny on it's own, and the riffing is at least above-average. In the end, I'll have fun with this set, but I was frankly hoping for "bigger" episodes. Maybe there will be some decent extras...

Kind of a letdown selection for a milestone release like Vol. XXX, but any MST3K is better than no MST3K so I'll take it. In defense vol XX wasn't exactly a great set. This set will be okay, No real surprises except maybe Outlaw and even then I'm the only one that had doubts about that.

My only real disappointment with volume XX was that it was an all-Joel era set, so it didn't have much variety (not to mention the following Gamera set was also all Joel), but since the Sci-Fi era had two sets during the Rhino days I'm forgiving of it. Other than that, Sinbad is outstanding, Moonbase is my favorite season one episode, and a Master Ninja double feature...I was pleased with it personally.
Sure none of the episodes had the "THAT ONE?! WOW!" factor that Godzilla vs. Megalon had on Rhino's volume 10, but since Rhino never legally obtained it in the first place, one could say that none of the deca-sets have really knocked our socks off with episode selection. The rest on 10 were just good-not-great episodes, and the replacement of Giant Gila Monster over Megalon just solidified it as a good-not-great set.
XXX though is more lopsided. It has one I adore and one that I looke down on, with two that are firmly in between. I'm really excited for Outlaw, which is the best episode of any of the deca-sets but my excitement for it is being anchored down by the knowledge that I have to buy It Lives By Night in order to get it.

Definitely excited about Outlaw, which is one of my favorites. The two SciFi episodes are in the okay, not great range for me, and I honestly can't remember much about the S1 episode.

I would say that Vol. XX is superior to XXX, in that it contained one of my Top 3 episodes of all time (Sinbad), and at least gave us something kinda "special" with BOTH Master Ninja episodes. IMHO, they should have just put Outlaw on Vol. XXIX and saved Pumaman for Vol. XXX.
(In the end, I realize none of this really matters...the upshot is we still get 4 never-before-released MST3K episodes on DVD! That's all I care about.)

I loved XX (if for nothing else, the Master Ninja double feature) and I really like this one alot. 113-The Black Scorpion is one of my favorite Season 1 episodes. 519-Outlaw is one of my favorite episodes ever! 901-The Projected Man is one of those episodes that has grown on me--so, I'll put in in the good-not great category. And 1010-It Lives By Night is another one that I like much more now than I used to--so a "pretty good" episode to me--but I can see why some people don't love it. However, my real enjoyment of the set hinges on if the episodes aren't riddled with tape flaws--yes, I'm one of those sick, insane members of society that can't stand paying $40-50 for a substandard product. But, good selection of episodes. No complaints here--and good to see that major studios continue to not be a problem.

I'm honestly curious as to why people don't like "It Lives By Night". It's my favorite season 10 episode. The film reminds me of a cross between Puma Man and Werewolf, in terms of '70s cheese and goofy transformation. Throw in the mellow skiing doctor and it's prime for riffing. Yet it gets regularly dismissed and disliked around here. What am I missing?
