Welcome to my first crack at hosting a contest! Since I've had a blast participating in photo contests in the past, I am incorporating that in this contest. But I also like riffing contests. So, I've combined the two. (I also like bacon, but have not found a way to integrate that into the contest. Hmmm.)
I'm going to post photos of MST3K actors appearing in different, many times goofy, roles. It's your job to name that actor and also provide hilarious riffs of the film/TV pics. My point system per photo will be as follows: 1 point per correct actor identification and 1 point per winning riff. I'll be judging the riffs -- with some help from my family. So, the way this is set up, there are still points to be had AFTER the typical lightning fast trivia answers are in.
Other rules: 1. Only one guess at a time regarding actors. You can guess again after another person has guessed. If I provide a hint, the last guesser can guess again right away, however. 2. Only one riff per person for each photo. Post your best riff! I'm not sure how long I'll leave each photo out there for riffing. Maybe a day or a few days depending on how many riffs I get. 3. All actors in memorable roles in any MST3K film/short (including KTMA and This Island Earth) are fair game. What's at stake, you ask? Well, since this is a double-contest of sorts, there will be TWO prizes! I'm offering a Diamond Select Toys Universal Monsters Select: Metaluna Mutant Action Figure, new in package! He's like an earth insect, except he's a biped the size of George Muresan! But he's self-cleaning and still remembers his piano lessons. Also included with MetMut is your very own miniature interocitor -- already assembled -- for all you interocitoring needs!
The other prize will be Skyroniter's super-duper DVDs/Blu-rays -- 10 of the former or 6 of the latter. I can personally attest to the quality of his discs and his chipper personality. Find his offerings here: www.mst3kvideos.com
The top finisher will have their choice of the prizes with the second place winner getting the other. The first photo for identification and riffing will follow shortly.

What a great contest. Thanks for the extra prize. I'm going to send a mass email to draw attention and, hopefully, participation.

It also kinda looks like a chubby Glenn Corbett.

I'd recognize Joe Don Baker anywhere, and it looks like his Acme (c) Constipation Treatment Kit has finally arrived!

Foreign Object nailed it with Gary Lockwood (Joe Don only hauls boxes filled with Schlitz). Did Gary's trademark hair part give him away? From movie called Survival Zone that involves (I've read) a post World War 3 family defending their farm from a cannibalistic biker gang. Oddly enough, they play the movie on the Hallmark channel all the time.
I'll give another day on the riffs, though I like the entries so far.
Leaderboard, of course, is just Foreign Object with 1 point.
Here's more for y'all to chew on with photo #2:

Foreign object takes a second point already for Lori Nelson from "Hot Rod Girl." I'm hoping to get a few more riffs before awarding points for them. Remember, all photos to this point are still open for riffs. Point standings: Just foreign object, who is off to a great start with 2. Here's photo #3:

Sheik is correct with Ray Danton. Danton was artificially aged for part of his role in that Wagon Train episode, that's why he looks close to death there. As for riffs, I'm still hoping for more to be posted. Perhaps people were thinking about other things besides MST3K and riffing over the weekend. Now, with the work week beginning, you have no excuse for not thinking about those things given the alternative of, well, thinking about work.
Point standings: Foreign object 2 Sheik Yerbouti 1
Now, here's a fun one (and probably too easy again, but very riffable). I'm looking for the guy on the right.

James Best?
I'm awful at riffing. I would if I could. Sorry...

Yes, James Best in the much-needed sequel to the underappreciated The Killer Shrews, the imaginatively titled "Return of the Killer Shrews." Sheik ties for the lead. I'll be reviewing the riffs tomorrow, I promise.
