I finished the set yesterday (been busy all week). Screaming Skull is flawless (save for the flaws in the actual print used in the film itself). The other three thave very minor lines that appear once ore twice at the top of the screen. Barely noticable and not distracting, and they don't happen regularly.

That's really good to hear. Some great episodes in this set… just don't want them to be marred by stupid technical flaws, cause--as I've stated just shy of one million times--it drives me completely bonkers…

Screaming Skull has more movie related features. First up is a look at Gumby featuring the original creator's son. It's fun and informative (and he thinks the MST episode is a riot). Next up is an apologist documentary on the movie itself, which offers some interesting info from cast and fans of the film. But it gets a little too personal when narrator Tom Weaver calls everybody who dislikes the movie "a bunch of idiots." I'll admit the production has virtues, but it's hokey and dry as toast. Those who dislike it have good reason. Wrapping things up are a couple of rough trailers for the film. I don't mind his passion for such things, but calling people idiots is a bit much... especially when the people who worked on the film have criticisms. Peggy Weber even suggests that folks might want to watch Rebecca if they really want to see this story done right.

Does anyone know why the set is "Under Review" at Amazon and no longer available direct from them? It just has the vague boilerplate "customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item", but I see no mention there (or any other sites that are still selling it) of what the problem supposedly is.

I know you could get a cardboard box for XXXI if you ordered through Shout, but has there been any word on if they'll sell the box individually, like they did the last time there was a box less tin set?

The tape glitches this time out would have probably been hard to see on an old analog tv. The tape damage in the video transfer of The Painted Hills they were watching faked me out a few times. It's a darn good thing we got the 801 Turkey Day segments several sets back, because they look a little worse for wear here. (Some rolling video distortion in places.) The audio goes out of sync, and doesn't go back to normal until nearly the end. Shout had a similar issue with one disc in their massive Halloween Blu Ray set this year. Would be nice if Shout asked the fans if they have better copies of the promos and specials sometime. (They only have one of "The Bottles" promos?) I have some of Mike era TD bumpers I recorded back in the day that are first generation.

Good point about fan collections. Some people like Tom of Tom's Temple have meticulously collected promos and other smaller oddities as close to first generation as possible.
Its just a shame BBI never seemed to keep any of the smaller promos and bumpers they shot, nor kept the episodes in good quality.

I finally had the money to order this set from Amazon.
I can't wait to dig into the extras, esp the ones on Screaming Skull.
Glad to hear the video quality on these episodes are in good shape

If I only learned one thing from those host segments, it's that there absolutely is a rivalry between Cinematic Titanic and Rifftrax. If there wasn't, how can you explain Kevin not performing Servo?
