My package tracker says my copy will be in this afternoon. Sounds like we'll be getting a loaded set, so I can't wait to dig right in. I have to work this afternoon but I'll post comments ASAP tonight.
THANKSGIVING COMES EARLY THIS YEAR!

Mine just appeared on my doorstep. YAY ME!
Probably won't post any thoughts on the discs until later tonight. But I heard some people were curious about the coasters. Well they're very thin and very cheap looking. They're kind of like tavern coasters. There are five total and they have episode artwork we've already seen on each side. The episode artwork is:
Werewolf Warrior of the Lost World Time of the Apes Final Justice Jack Frost The Pumaman The Day the Earth Froze The Final Sacrifice Fugitive Alien "Manos" The Hands of Fate
I'll watch the extras and post thoughts later tonight.

I think we know them all anyway but for completionist sake can you list the rights holders that appear on the bottom of the DVD set? Thanks

Love these threads, especially since I'm unemployed and won't be buying this one for a while, I'm guessing. Thanks!

Happy early Turkey Day one and all! Pass the stuffing and the potatoes (POTATOES ARE WHAT WE EAT) and let's get down to the meat of it, shall we?
The centerpiece of our lovely Thanksgiving celebration are the new Turkey Day bumpers for the four episodes we have before us. Joel hangs around with Crow (voiced by Trace) and Servo (voiced by Josh) in what could most likely be Shout Factory HQ. These bumpers are a lot of fun and there's some good writing put into them (a bit too many clips from the actual episode though), and I think most MSTies will definitely get a laugh out of them. Joel uses the opportunity to make it known that Squirm is the only movie featured on the show that he had actually seen during it's original theatrical run (his opinion at the time: not great). These are swell to have, and only make mouth water for Shout's 2nd streaming Turkey Day celebration later this month.
On the individual discs, Jungle Goddess has a Turkey Day retrospective, which is cool to have. Not much is revealed that we hadn't already known, though I raised an eyebrow at the "Frank gets fed a Turkey" segments actually had a larger budget than the original Turkey Day bumpers (there was so much more going on in those first ones).
For those who want the bumpers themselves, pop in Painted Hills. Be warned that the masters are worn out on the first two sets. The original bumpers fare better than the second set (which look like they were recorded off of television). Faring the best are the bumpers from 95, but we've already had these thanks to Shout's Blood Beast release on volume 16. They look episode quality. It's a tad disappointing that the MST Halloween Party bumpers from 93 and the Adam West bumpers from 94 are omitted, but since Best Brains had no involvement in these they probably didn't have any masters of them. I'll forgive it.
Screaming Skull has more movie related features. First up is a look at Gumby featuring the original creator's son. It's fun and informative (and he thinks the MST episode is a riot). Next up is an apologist documentary on the movie itself, which offers some interesting info from cast and fans of the film. But it gets a little too personal when narrator Tom Weaver calls everybody who dislikes the movie "a bunch of idiots." I'll admit the production has virtues, but it's hokey and dry as toast. Those who dislike it have good reason. Wrapping things up are a couple of rough trailers for the film.
Also movie centered is the Squirm disc It has an interview with human worm...I mean star of the film Don Scardino. He has a lot of fun stories from behind the scenes and has a good attitude toward the picture in general. There's a pretty damn pristine trailer for the film as well, which isn't surprising since the film was just released on blu-ray unMSTed by Shout themselves.
Much better set than the previous, though one yearns for more episodes with more new Turkey Day intros so you can have a more hardcore marathon than just four episodes. But great job by our boys at Shout!

I think from the Turkey Day bumpers for the 4 episodes and the coasters (which, if you look at Shout!'s marketing material, they say something to the effect of using the coasters to have your own Turkey Day marathon), we can extrapolate what this year's Turkey Day Marathon will look like(probably not in this order):
Jungle Goddess Time of the Apes Fugitive Alien The Day the Earth Froze "Manos" The Hands of Fate Warrior of the Lost World Painted Hills Jack Frost The Pumaman Werewolf The Final Sacrifice Screaming Skull Final Justice Squirm
14 episodes, 7 Joel, 7 Mike.
Using last year's timing (episode length + ~3 to ~8 minutes of bumpers= an even 100 minutes per episode) that would be 23 hours, 20 minutes. A decently sized marathon.

My package just arrived and it is beautiful! I am so glad for the Warrior of the Lost World coaster (my first episode.) I will put a beer on it and watch an episode soon. I haven't had a chance to watch anything yet, but I plan on doing a small Mst3k marathon this Turkey Day. Since I am close to finishing Season Two, I am thinking of watching the first 5 episodes of Season Three, but, wait, I just saw the news about the second online marathon!!! Oh boy! I don't have Internet at home though so I must find a way to watch. Oh boy!

I'm not going to get it until it officially comes out. However, I can state my opinions on the episodes included in the set. Each episode is graded on a 1 to 10 scale. I like to be generous and add an extra point if the skits are good. 203 - Jungle Goddess: 5/10 This one's okay. And by that, I mean extra okay. The film's boring, and the riffing's nothing special. The skits are great though. I especially like the ending skit. 510 - The Painted Hills: Haven't Seen It 912 - The Screaming Skull: 9/10 A pretty good episode. The Gumby short is the best short ever done on MST3K. Better than Mr. B Natural. Anyway, this episode just has a certain tone that I can't help but adore. 1012 - Squirm: 9/10 Second to last episode. The skits are great! Especially the Mikey the Mike Sprite one! The riffing's pretty good. The movie, while it has a tone that I really like, the movie's just disgusting. The ending . . . well . . . {Squirm Ending - Spoilers} A man gets pushed into a pit of worms. You get to see him sink down into that pit, being eaten alive. Yuck! Anyway, great episode. Average Episode Rating: 7/10 I'll edit this post when I've watched The Painted Hills.

Would anyone that's watched the episodes mind giving a quick report on the video/audio quality? I received my box set on Monday, but I won't be able to watch the full episodes till the weekend. Thanks
