www.mediafire.com/watch/d26d4fqee1aqzt1/Superdome-Host5-EV2.mpegHere is a restored version of the final host segment from MST3K KTMA 15, Superdome, where Joel shows fanart from viewers. Known copies of this episode were missing the final host segment until October 2004, when it was found separately, saved by a fan whose art featured in the segment. This copy is missing a few seconds (and frames) at the beginning, and there were major color dropouts and glitches throughout. I've restored the segment to remove or reduce the glitches. The artwork appears clean and what were serious dropouts just appear as some hazy color distortion. It's possible that I could do more if I really wanted to put some more time in. I can't find the original host segment online other than for order on cheesyflix.com (so I can't compare), but this is very good quality for a KTMA episode. Neat!

The girl who gave us the missing segment actually first posted about it on this board. I remember that day. She was looking for a cleaner copy and when we discovered what segment it was we all went nuts.

Maybe the last lost KTMA episodes will make their way to a release some day, but I still hope it's a fan who shows up and says "look what I found!" I don't know much about video restoration, tygerbug, but that looks pretty nice to me. Well done!

Aye, it's always nice to see some cleaned up segments out there.
And, yeah, we'll likely not be seeing many notices like that on the fan side of things. But, hey, part of what made those announcements so awesome was that it was fans doing it, so maybe there are still some surprises left. Time'll tell.

The problem with that is those episodes only aired once in their initial airing, and I really don't think any residents of Minnesota would have immediately taped the show unless they either just randomly taped whatever looked good or really liked Joel.

That's very likely the reason. I'm surprised as many fan copies exist as it is, to be honest. One can always hope, though.

What I've noticed about the KTMA episodes alone (and this is just my assumption) is that each individual episode we have up online were all taped either by individuals alone in Minnesota or just one person alone who decided to tape the episodes with really lousy reception. We really should be lucky the last host segment was found by another fan in 2004.

I've edited a lot of material now, but these will do for a start: MST3K Pilot The Green Slime (Mystery Science Theater 3000 K00) vimeo.com/116826601Here is a restored and reedited version of the MST3K pilot "The Green Slime," as shown with Joel Hodgson's introduction at the Archon 32 convention on 10/3/2008, 20 years after its creation. Filmed off the projector screen, higher quality clips have been edited in whenever possible, including some tricky effects work. MST3K K01 Invaders From the Deep (Mystery Science Theater 3000 clips) vimeo.com/116829324Here are all the known clips from the first aired episode of MST3K, which was never rerun and doesn't exist in fan hands. You'll also see some footage from the movie itself (a compilation from the Gerry Anderson TV series Stingray), including a recreation of most of a trailer for the movie.

MST3K K03 Star Force: Fugitive Alien II (clips) vimeo.com/117071741Cips from the third aired episode of MST3K, which was never rerun and doesn't exist in fan hands. No replies?
If you're looking for the "Expanded KTMA Scrapbook" DVD I mentioned and can't find the link, let me know. Privately I guess.

Great to see these videos; I'm a huge Gerry Anderson fan (I think the trailers you've included in the K01/K02 vids come from my youtube channel ) and I missed seeing the very brief in-theater clips from those two episodes when they were first on MST3K.com. Nice job!

tygerbug, I think it's fantastic that you've done all this to help us catch some of this ultra-rare early footage from the dawn of what would become a real cultural phenomenon. I can't watch them now because I'm at work but will definitely check them out on the weekend. I just watched the more commonly available KTMA stuff a few months ago, as I am watching the entire series ep by ep, and it will be awesome to go back and check some of this stuff out. You're the best!
