D'ahh, c'mon, ya lightweights. (;^> The Unearthly is one of my all-time faves, and not just for Tor Johnson's immortal "Time for go to bed!". If you ask me, it's the short Appreciating Your Parents that comes dangerously close to dragging the whole episode down -- not because of Joel'n'the Bots' performance, but because that short is so grindingly tedious and monotonous that it comes close to putting me to sleep before they can get on to the grim, dark, hilarious glory that IS The Unearthly.Honest, gang; I can't possibly be the only one out here who thinks The Unearthly is pure friggin' gold. And right on cue, The Unearthly review was just (re)posted at Satellite News. Once again, I guess it all boils down to whether the movie "defeats" you. In my case, The Unearthly didn't, so I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I've not been finding this on WTTW anymore. I think I should send a letter.

And PBS responded to the letter pretty quickly! Here's what WTTW had to say:
"Thank you for your email to WTTW. WTTW acquired only four episodes on Mystery Science Theater 3000 to test it out in our lineup. Those four episodes have already have their airdates, and a decision has not been made yet whether to acquire more episodes of the program. It is also possible that these initial four episodes may repeat in the future, but they are not on the schedule through November and the schedule has not been finalized after that point. I will forward your feedback requesting the show’s return to the program director."
So... okay, I can get that. They've not decided to cancel it so much as they're weighing their options. Here's hoping!

So that's what happened. I'd been checking my local listings as well. Was so excited to see those episodes, but I guess if they only got 4, what can you do? I would hope that they would get more.
