This month's contest will be my third, and almost certainly my last, picture contest.
The Rules are simple. I post a picture of a person who played a role in a film/short featured on MST3k. You get to guess who it is. Each correct guess counts as an entry for the final drawing at the end of the month, where I randomly select one of the correct responses to win the prize. So while it pays to identify as many of the people in the photos as possible, even one correct answer can win!
That prize, of course, is TEN (10) DVDs or SIX (6) Blu-rays of MST3k episodes from our own Skyroniter! You can find his website at www.mst3kvideos.com
Here are some more rules for clarification.
The person featured in the picture either played a major role in the MST3k experiment, or played a smaller role that was distinctive enough that I (and presumably all of you) would have remembered their performance long after having seen the episode. In the prior two versions of this contest, most of my photos were of major players, but this time, the supporting characters will be much better represented, so keep that in mind!
Each contestant is allowed one guess per photo per message. If you have made a guess on a photo, you are not allowed to make a second guess on that photo unless one of two things have happened: That I have either informed you that you are incorrect, or another contestant has made a guess on that photo. This is to prevent a response that haphazardly names actors: eg."That's the guy who played Torgo! It's Joe Don Baker! No, it's Peter Graves!" Any message that violates this rule will be disqualified, even if you have the correct response.
A correct answer will either name the actor/actress in the photo, or name their character, if such identification is clear (IE. "It's Cheesesteak" or "It's Bart Fargo!" would work, but "It's John!" would not). Including the film that the actor/actress appeared in is encouraged and appreciated, but not necessary.
The purpose of this contest is to amuse you, not stump you, so anyone criticizing me for making some of these photos "TOO EASY" will be automatically disqualified. This will undoubtedly result in my own disqualification at some point during the contest. This rule will not be enforced, but is only included to remind everyone not to be a dork about these things. However, due to my fragile ego, if you want to claim that I'm making this contest too difficult, I will appreciate that. I will not, however, award points for this flattery.
I will try to post new photos each day, or after the previous one has been correctly guessed. I will also, time and patience permitting, edit in a photo of the actor/actress in their MST3k experiment role after someone has made the correct guess.
So here's #1!
