...In No Way Whatsoever" (Hey admins, can you please make it so the forum allows longer thread titles?) Perhaps you've heard already, but Frank Conniff just released a book where he talks about some of the movies he picked for the show. You can get it on Amazon here: www.amazon.com/Mystery-Science-Theater-Changed-Whatsoever/dp/0692751971/I've been reading it and it's great so far! It's got his typical oddball humor and plenty of obscure movie trivia.

Thanks! Just ordered it. Surprisingly, I hadn't heard of this. (I don't follow Frank on twitter, as he is a bit to political for me (same with Josh))

New guy here. Received and finished the book today, a nice quick read. I liked the book, several laugh-out-loud moments that I'd love to hear Frank read out-loud (audio version please). If you are looking for his personal insights on why the movies were chosen, behind the scenes info on the making of the episodes, etc, you won't find much there.
The 25 movies chosen serve as springboards to essays that touch upon parts of his past, the state of the world and pop culture at the time the films were made, and plenty of references to other films, both good and bad. Most chapters end with "Federal Bureau of Incoherence Obscure Reference Task Force" notes that elaborate a little on some of the pop culture references made in each chapter. These footnotes are also heavy on the snark.
I know some MSTies may object to Frank's political vitriol you see on his social media feeds, and there are definitely some political jabs here and there, but I found the jabs in the book serve the humor, as opposed to his sometimes "nastier" raw takes on political news in "Twitter"-realtime.
He touches on his past drug/alcohol abuse and recovery, his parents, overviews on the genres of some of the featured films themselves (giving me a few film titles I'll look up) as well as piling on Joe Don Baker's "Mitchell" and a short defense of Ed Wood that again proves Frank has a sweet side that generally balances out the negativity that fits him "like a black unitard". A few "F-bombs" and other naughty words with a side of blasphemy...
I found 5 or 6 goofs that would have benefited from another editing/proofreading pass ("UHS" instead of "UHF" tv station and Mystery Science Theater "300").
I'd recommend it.

I'm old-fashioned; I'll wait for the print edition to be available again.

I got the paperback. I'm about 5 movies/chapters in.
I agree that if you're looking for MST3K memoirs, then don't even bother. It's also a very short book, with each chapter at around 3-4 pages, but then I don't mind giving Frank $12 for all the laughs he gave on MST3K.
I agree with Tommunist though--the little essays are pretty entertaining, and you can hear Frank in every one, so if that's something you would like, I would definitely recommend it.

I'm 90 percent of the way through it, and have enjoyed every page. Quite a few LOL moments, including Frank's observations on Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp.
A fun read.
