Hey guys, just wanted to survey the waters here: what's an episode you think is overblow, and another that doesn't get enough love?
For me, I really think Werewolf is overrated. It's not bad, it's terrific right up to Where O Werewolf, but after that it becomes a real desert outside of the final 2 host segments. They kinda run out of gas, and jokes felt sparce. In it's defense, all the host segments are home runs, especially James Lipton.
On the flip side, I really love Boggy Creek 2, it rounds out my top 10. Lots of good repeating jokes, Southern stereotypes and overall mockery of a watchibly bad movie. In contrast, I'll admit the host segments are somewhat forgettable.
Anyway, how bout you guys?

Everyone around here knows how I feel about Pod People. F*** that episode.
As for underrated...there are probably quite a few I can name, because every single MSTie always seems to default to a certain group of episodes that are good, granted, but just talking about the same 20 over and over again grows monotonous. Watching the top six unfold on Turkey Day was painfully predictable, because there are so many episodes that aren't represented while certain overplayed ones get too much attention.
My favorite Joel episode is Girl in Lover's Lane. I'm sure that one is liked well enough, but I rarely hear it mentioned anymore. Bloodlust is a great episode that quite a few people knock down, though I'm not sure why. I laugh like a baffoon every time I watch it. People say the movie in Invasion of the Neptune Men makes it impossible to watch, though personally I find that particular movie child's play and the riffing hilarious.
There are more, but that's just a small taste of the wonderful episodes that get passed by.

In my humble opinion, the single most overated ep has to be Manos, which is why the top 6 was disappointing for me. It's the ultimate "Bad movie overwhelms any jokes." Everyone knows it but not many people can name funny lines from it. The movie itself more than any other is the joke. Lots of state park esque jokes. " Also, it's the only one normies can name" but that's really doesn't bother me. Point is, I can rattle off 5 iconic Rowsdower or Krankor jokes faster than I can make 5 Manos references. Hired 2 is great, tho.
I'm a little new, btw. What about Pod People makes you hate it with the passion of 1000 Suns?

It's a good episode, don't get me wrong. I just feel like people talk about it and praise it way too much. Heck, Manos isn't even the worst film on the show. Castle of Fu Manchu was 10x worse.

As for underrated... It's my personal favorite Mike episode, and I feel like a lot of people seem to really rag on this one.

Squirm is so underrated. I wish the series had ended on that instead of Diabolik. Also, my favorite episode of the series is Gamera vs. Guiron, which needs more credit (I'm Feeling Really Good!).

Two excellent choices, especially Gamera Vs. Guiron (Cornjob!)

Quest of the Delta Knights doesn't get nearly enough love. People act like the mere existence of intentional comedy somehow disqualifies it as an ideal target when it's got PLENTY of misplaced sincerity and the most wonderfully confused sense of setting and genre ever.

I've always considered Pumaman to be the most overrated by far. It's pretty good, but not near as good as everyone says it is. As far as most underrated, I'd have to go with Earth vs. the Spider. It's one of my favorite episodes and it never seems to get any attention.

Underrated: Samson vs the vampire women. It's awesome.
Overrated: manos of course but I understand why. For me the episode is awesome until the women start wrestling... After that I want to turn it off. Santa clause vs the Martians was boring and dropping makes me want to gouge my eyes out. I don't think I'll ever watch that movie again. Pumaman never struck me as great.

San Francisco International is rarely talked about. It ticks all the boxes for me and is very underrated.
The Final Sacrifice is vastly overrated. To hear some fans talk about the episode you'd believe it might the greatest comedy ever made by man. It's good...it ain't that good.

Joel Era
Overrated: The Day the Earth Froze: It is pretty funny but the host segments, are in my opinion, and that prevents me from agreeing with the consensus that this episode is a classic.
Underrated: Swamp Diamonds: The will admit that movie does drag especially towards the middle, but the riffing is excellent, and the host segments are cute.
Mike Comedy Central Era:
Overrated: Zombie Nightmare: I could just never get into this episode despite it being well thought of, in the MSTie community. It is pretty funny, but I don't think it is a classic at all.
Underrated: Alien From L.A. : I just love this episode, Mike and the 'bots are on fire with their riffs in the theater and the host segments are excellent as well.
Mike Sci-Fi Era
Overrated: Puma Man: The riffing is very funny but the host segments are not, in my opinion funny at all. It isn't a bad episode I just don't hold with the popular opinion that it is one of the best episodes ever.
Underrated: It Lives by Night: This is one of my favorite episodes, with a pompous bat expert a nutty Sgt. Ward, and Dr. Groovy Ski Bum. The host segments are in my opinion are hilarious, and the riffing is just as good.
