I put together a long list of 150+ movies that I thought would be suitable for riffing on the show in the future. It's mostly just a list of nearly every trash classic I can think of, excluding more popular and obvious ones (e.g The Room). letterboxd.com/gst95/list/mystery-science-theater-3000-suggested-films/You're more than welcome to give feedback, or even suggest any to me. I know that only a very small number of these will make it into future seasons, if any at all. It's just for fun more than anything. I know Rifftrax may have done some of these, but for me the whole format of the show based around it rather than just a standalone riffing makes for a much more satisfying experience imo.

Very cool list! I'm surprised by how many of these movies I haven't seen. I would love to see The Garbage Pail Kids Movie and The Giant Claw riffed, although they are pretty hilarious in their own right.

I've only seen clips of The Garbage Pail Kids Movie, so I probably don't have enough personal experience with that. Having said that, I'm having trouble thinking of another movie MST3K's done with genre similarities. Pod People, maybe?

It's hard to compare The Garbage Pail Kids Movie to anything MST3K has done, but if I had to compare it to just one movie riffed on the show, I would have to say it's closest to Hobgoblins. Like Hobgoblins, The Garbage Pail Kids tries to be a funny light-hearted comedy but ends up being a complete failure of a movie on all levels. Plus both movies were released in the same era (late 80s).

My only real exposure was when The Nostalgia Critic did an episode on it that I watched where it wound up looking like a weird cross between The Goonies and Adventures In Babysitting that crashed its way through jim Henson's puppet shop, but somehow wound up being a bad film in spite of it all.
