I used to follow Mike on Twitter (twitter.com/michaeljnelson), but I hadn't seen any posts of his come across my feed in a while, so I checked out his profile. His old profile is still active, but it's home for some kind of handbag company. At some point I apparently automatically stopped following the profile, as well.
Mike has a Facebook profile (mikeatrifftrax) that hasn't been updated since April, but it still lists his Twitter handle as michaeljnelson. Just curious if I missed something where he decided to leave Twitter? I know he was never a huge social media guy but thought it was odd that his handle is now peddling purses.

I saw Kevin respond to someone asking this question and confirmed that Mike did leave Twitter.
I don't think there was any drama or anything, so maybe he just didn't care for it anymore. And after the Kelly Marie Tran, Ruby Rose, Roseanne, and James Gunn bullpoopie that's been going on, can you blame someone for rejecting social media?

That's kind of what I figured, but for a second thought it was some kind of joke/experiment, like the time he tried to eat only bacon for month.

Mike decided to leave Twitter back in April. On one of the episodes of the podcast he does with his pastor, he explained he had cut back on using it because he didn't feel like logging in a lot of the time, he was just tired of the negativity and as he put it "ranting" he saw people get drawn into, and felt like it wasn't doing him any good any more to use it. Nothing more than that, and as far as he said it wasn't any particular experience of his own that fueled the decision to leave. I miss his tweets and I think maybe he shouldn't have thrown every Twitter/social media user into the same basket of ranting crazies that he talked about, but I respect his decision.

Oh, I can definitely see why he may want to just leave it behind. Many have, and that's cool. I think what was throwing me off is the fact that the account is now home for a handbag business. It's the same account - it's still linked on Mike's Facebook profile and was started in 2012. That's why I thought maybe it was a joke I wasn't in on. And there are many, many of those I miss his tweets, too. He didn't make them that often but it was always kind of nice to hear from him.

Maybe he just got tired of reading Frank's raving and ranting? I like Frank, but dude needs to just take some deep breaths every once in awhile.
