When did you first discover the show, and when were you hooked? I discovered the show around 2006-2007, when I was in high school. Obviously, the show had long ended its run by then. One of the first episodes I saw was Prince of Space.

earliest i can recall being made aware of it was in 2004 when Vol. 2 of Space Ghost Coast to Coast (my favorite show) came out on DVD, which has an episode with Joel Hodgson as a guest. by the time YouTube came into existence i found the Robot Rumpus short and watched it repeatedly over a couple of years. within that timeframe i attempted to watch Manos, split up into multiple parts on YT, but couldn't get the hang of it. i didn't see a full episode until 2011 through Netflix and then Amazon Prime and then began devouring as much information as i could find online as i found more episodes.

I think I first discovered MST3K while browsing YouTube one day and randomly finding an episode. I had to have been in late elementary school or early middle school when I first discovered the show. That just goes to show you how old I am lol. Anyway, later on I watched my first couple episodes Screaming Skull and Manos. However, I didn't seriously get into the show until last year when I watched seasons 11 and 12 on Netflix. I also went back and watched a couple of the classic episodes like Space Mutiny and Moon Zero Two (which is admittedly kinda boring, but hey I can at least say I've watched a full season 1 episode). I remember I really enjoyed Space Mutiny the first time I watched it and this year, I plan on rewatching some of those episodes. And I also plan on finishing season 11, which I still haven't done yet.

I have vague memories of seeing the show while channel surfing back in 1997, but I don't think I really bothered to stop and watch it, not until around 1998.

It was late 1990 or early 1991. I think the first one I saw was Sidehackers. The first, of many, I recorded was Rocketship XM.

My earliest tangible memory of watching MST3K was watching Fugitive Alien II on Comedy Central in 1991. I remember Joel leaving the show. I remember getting bummed that the MST3K movie wasn't going to be playing in my city. I remember being excited that Sci-Fi Channel was picking up the show (which is when I started taping it regularly). I remember tape trading. I remember buying expensive official home-video versions on VHS at Suncoast Video when our family was on vacation. I remember the ad for the free Rhino home video catalog. I remember!

For any memory, it's kinda hard to say, I saw the silhouettes multiple times through various videos I watched on YouTube. But I think around 2016, I watched a brief review of the show and gave it a shot. I loved it and would watch whatever was available on YouTube. I even attempted a marathon recently of the entire show, but stopped a bit in as school got in the way and I forgot to finish it (This happens often as I still have yet to finish Doctor Who, Code Lyoko, and Batman 66 after attempted marathons). I plan to watch every episode one day though probably at a slower pace.

I didn't discover it as much as it was shown to me. Flipping through channels (and I frequented Comedy Channel for 'Short Attention Span Theater') I would catch host segments and liked them well enough but I didn't quite understand the theater segments showing old B&W films. So I never really watched the show nor understood what they were up to.
But during Thanksgiving break in 1990 I stayed the night at a friend's house who loved the show and we watched 'Lost Continent' from the beginning (I had never caught the show from the beginning) and finally got what they were doing. I wouldn't watch it again until Christmas break when 'King Dinosaur' was shown and I laughed my head off and then again when 'Godzilla vs Megalon' aired (I wet 'em).
Caught the re-runs through the winter and spring and saw the promos for the next new season and with some exceptions watched all season 3 premieres. By the time school started back up it was by far my favorite show and I was hooked.

I watched bits and pieces of it with my parents as a toddler and saw the movie. But I didn’t really get into the series until I played one of my dad’s fan recorded tapes and watched “Attack of the Eye Creatures” when I was 5 or 6 and instantly got hooked.

I remember reading about the show in TV Guide, but Prime Cable (now Cox) didn't have Comedy Central yet, and didn't until after the Joel/Mike switch. My first episode was Alien from LA, and by the time Samson vs. the Vampire Women aired, I was regularly watching the episodes as they aired (in addition to whatever reruns Comedy Central was airing).

I am a Navy Veteran and spent the entire decade of the 1980's, 1990 and part of 1991 overseas. Being stationed in Japan (twice), Spain and Italy. When I got back to Oregon I decided to see what this whole cable TV was all about. You know young kids with their hula-hoops and fancy fax machines. Luckily my cable carrier Viacom, at the time, carried Comedy Central. Although for only 12 hours a day. VH1 was the other 12. But that's a story for another time. I was flipping through the channels in late 1991 when I landed on Mystery Science Theater 3000. I noticed the silhouettes right away, and noticed the wise-cracks. Was immediately intrigued and started watching. Well it was Star Force: Fugitive Alien II. Since I had just left Japan, I was familiar with some of their goofy television shows, game shows, movies and commercials. For such a wonderful country with great people, and fantastic cuisine, their taste in that medium, can be a head-scratchier at times. Anyway I caught it during the long drawn out black hole scene so I was a bit confused at the whole thing. But when that Japanese girl jumped up and said I feel good or something like that. Then Crow quips.. Ah shes got Spunk,.... I Hate Spunk!.. I was hooked. From there I discovered that MST3K was broadcast weeknights from Midnight to 2AM, so the recordings began. Along with Saturday nights at 7PM of course. Been a fan since then, with only a few bouts of general grumpiness about the show.

2007 when I was on my own at college for the first time. I kept hearing about the dvd volumes coming out every so often and blind bought Vol. 11 at a local best buy. Ring of Terror was my first episode and I was hooked.

Early 2015 at 36 years of age, and BOY, did MST3K help me through an unpleasant divorce.

It was 1990 or 1991. I loved it from the moment I first encountered it.

I don't remember exactly, either late 1998 or early 1999. I heard my high school buddies talk about the show all the time so I tried it and got hooked. I remember being so bummed out that the show was in its (then) final season. I also recall being thrilled to hear about Merlin's Shop Of Mystical Wonders and being so happy that there was "one more" show.
