I bumped up to $250, and dropped the boxed set add-on. I'm perfectly happy increasing my level by $80 and getting the extra bonuses. Absolutely I want QOTDK on official DVD one day, but a digital download is a satisfactory stop gap.

i'd love a physical disc too, did they finally find who owns the rights? and will probably release it whenever they clear some other episode for a new box set?

Just a comment on the possibility of S13 being filmed remotely, and compiled together. I think perhaps some people might think of this as some kind of Zoom meeting, but I truly doubt that. I expect a similar production quality as S11 + 12.
But truly, if any show could pull off a remote filming scenario, this one is it. I mean, the whole premise of the show is that of remoteness. Its a guy and 2 robots alone in space, and his only interaction with other people is via a remote video chat. Have we forgotten that MST3K was always a show based on being physically distanced?
I think this could actually lend itself to some truly great bits. Why is it necessary for Kinga and Son of TV's Frank to be in the same location. Do the bots actually need to be physically beside Jonah for the host segments? I don't see any issue with CGIing the theatre scenes to blend in all 3 performers. I mean its a bunch of shadows who make jokes during a bad movie, exactly how authentic do we need this to be?

They need to be able to play off each other. Did you ever hear speech when they say one word at a time with different voices for each word? Every word is spoke clearly but its hard to understand. That's how season 11 and 12 sounded to me. It just didn't feel like three people talking to each other. It felt like three really good comedians reading their lines and having them stitched together.

Season 12 did have them in the same room recording together.

And it still was edited in later, stiff-sounding, rehearsed and oddly sound-mixed. And it still didn't sound like 3 separate people talking to each other during a movie, it sounded like 3 people reciting lines, placed over a movie.
Which, again, was something I had hoped they'd fix; but a 100% remote shoot probably precludes that. If anything, it sounds like they'd go back to the totally separate recording booth stuff of Season 11.

12 episodes + 12 shorts confirmed! My guess is the host breakdown will be 5 Jonah, 5 Emily and 2 Joel and the shorts might have a similar breakdown. Based on the mission patch numbering, the experiment count could be: Joel: 108 Mike: 91 Jonah: 25 Emily: 5 Edit: Stretch goals might mean even more episodes, or a rumored finale with all three hosts.

I expect a similar production quality as S11 + 12. The trouble is some of us found the riffing in S11 + 12 to be noticeably disconnected and "post-op". If you're someone who considers that to be a major issue with the Netflix episodes, then the production strategy proposed for Season 13 offers no hope it will be better and in fact guarantees it will be worse. Joel has doubled down on the approach he took to the riffing since the beginning of the revival and it's clear he's not going back. There's really no positive way to spin that for people who feel something important got broken by pre-recording the riffs. That said, I'm not here to stink up the room. I'll always root for MST3K and am thrilled to see how successful the Kickstarter has turned out. I'm also looking forward to checking in on the telethon. May it live up to the glorious disaster that was the 2015 antecedent. My hope would be that whatever amount they raise beyond the $5.5 million is stuffed into a piggy bank as a down payment for Season 14. I'm sure there are other cool things they can offer beyond more episodes to keep the hype going for the last 12 hours. More KTMA? Perhaps THE TV WHEEL? There's probably a fair amount of archival content from the BBI library Shout! has been sitting on for a rainy day. However dubious the quality, isn't it pretty clear that they have a recording of the entire 1994 convention riff of THIS ISLAND EARTH? Clips from it appear in the making-of doc for THE MOVIE.

The feeling I had with season 11 and 12 was that it felt like the riffs were done one at a time and then dubbed in. It didn't feel like a conversation. It felt like 3 different people riffing. This could be easily fixed. Have all three people riffing together at the same time while watching the movie. It would be better in the same room but that's not absolutely necessary as long as the three were interacting with each other while they are riffing. They just need to create an audio file. The theater segment can be filmed later using the audio file. It's not like you can read a persons lips from the back of their heads.

Revised experiment count should they hit the 13th episode three host tier:
Joel: 109 Mike: 91 Jonah: 26 Emily: 6

If I backed but also doubted it, do I still get bent? Or only half-bent?
