The forums were fun there though I remember for a bit we got invaded by bots wanting to sell motorcycle helmets. Though it was fun trying to gather trivia especially looking up info on the Japanese tv series they spotlighted.

I turned the keys to the forum to someone else, oh 5, 6 years ago, and haven't been back since... but the Beatles quotes, man did we do a lot of work on that. I just tried to go back and see if I could grab that list and save it somewhere, but it seems my account is no longer active (tried to set up another, but it doesn't look like there's been any administrative activity in years, so I probably won't get approval to enter. lol shut out of my own creation) - but I appreciate all the help you all gave me back then (Cowboy, Sol, Torgo), giving me trivia notes for the 'stuff and nonsense' section on the website, the Beatles quotes and such on the forum. It was fun when it was fun.
As for the lists and opinions, as I've gotten old and creaky, lost my hair, and much of my eyesight (I will be 60 by the end of the week) I think I've mellowed and become more philosophical about it. When Roger Ebert died almost everyone who spoke about him prefaced their comments with... "I didn't always agree with him, but.." And I thought, is that really the point of reviewing, that we try and forge some hive-minded accord? Of course, we're not going to agree on everything, so that shouldn't be the aim...
I'm a list guy, I can't stop myself, it's an addiction, and yeah, when you compare lists we're going have points where we come together (like I said, popular episode are popular for a reason) but I get a bigger kick out of seeing where we part ways, it makes a top 25 (and beyond) more interesting, or rather gives it a unique personality, that represents you as an individual, there's only one you, celebrate that. (Geeze, I sounded like Mr. Rogers on a ramble at the end there, Ha Ha)

Just as well you can't get in. The newest post I saw just now was from 2017. A real annoying thing in the forum since the time I assume you turned it over to someone else is pretty much almost every post has at least one word replaced with Hikeba! which makes posts really difficult to follow unless you can figure out what word was replaced. Don't think it's only with Firefox because it also happens in Chrome. I can't imagine that being your idea. Some links to content are dead but some links to the same content work OK. If I could figure out a way to save all the pages of the Beatles Master List and send them to you I would, but even with all my technology I have no idea how to do a lot of things with it. Just copying and pasting results in it being pretty much unreadable. Oh, and I turned 60 last summer so I'm older than you.

Nope, that wasn't me with the hikeba's. How weird to do that. And congratulations on the milestone, I'll be joining the 60 club soon. I guess a lot of us are getting there, though Torgo was just a baby when joined (didn't he say he was 13 when he became a fan?) so he's got a ways to go yet.
And if you ever make a list I'd love to see it.

Note - sol-survivor did send me a file with the Beatles list on it, so I have it and am working on cleaning it up. I think I figured out the Hikeba's... most of the original words start with the letter "F" - I think someone attempted to filter out F-bombs by replacing it with Hikeba, which is funny, but something went wrong in the coding so that everything that began with F was replaced.
For example, Strawberry Fields becomes Strawberry Hikeba.
Fire Maidens became Hikeba Maidens, and so on.

My car had to go into the shop, so I worked on this while I was waiting. Our old collection of Beatles Riffs are up, Hikeeba free, and ready to view... Part 1: KTMA to Season 3Part 2: Seasons 4 to 7Part 3: The Sci-Fi EraAnd I've actually added to it already, I was watching Season 3s Gaos this morn and heard one. I also included a couple of riff explanations, for one, 304 Gamera vs Barugon, I mention an interview where Joel speaks of listening to a Harrison track, and how that was a "Gestalt Moment", that lead to inspiration for MST3K. Nothing for the Netflix era - and I just watched them all, so I'm not going back just for this. But maybe one day. The last 2 that need to be checked K02 Mysterons from Mars K05 Gamera

I could have sworn I remember a Yellow Submarine riff in one of the Netflix episodes, but for the life of me I can't remember which one. I recently watched both Atlantic Rim and The Day Time Ended, so it probably could have been either. Or it's The Land That Time Forgot, since it has a submarine in it.
But I could have them jumbled up with other episodes I'm watching for my blog just as easily.

Good memory, it was a callback to one of the Gamera episodes (Zigra I think) where they sang “We all die in a Yellow Bathesphere” - I think I noted that in one of the recent write-ups?
goes and checks
I did, it was The Land That Time Forgot, "We all die in a Yellow Submarine" - so we have one noted at least. It's a start.
Edit - and I was thinking about watching Earth vs the Spider the other day, might as well make it tonight, I'll keep my ear open for some and we can scratch that off the unwatched list.

I'm currently converting Samson, The Movie, Overdrawn, and Outlaw into MP3 form so I can throw them on my MP3 player and listen to them at work tomorrow. I can't use my phone to listen to the actual videos at work (smart phones are not allowed at our desks), so I can just listen to the sound. That's all I really need, anyway. Maybe I'll find something. More likely if it's something from Sgt Pepper, Abbey Road, or The White album. I've listened to all of them multiple times in the last couple weeks.

By the way, MJ, have you ever seen this video? I originally taped it off The Disney Channel in the early 90s and really enjoyed it. I no longer have a working VCR and don't know if I still have the tape. It was on YouTube once and I should have downloaded it before it disappeared. It took me a while to find in on this site and I now have it downloaded.

I wasn't 100% on that, but I watched like 3/4 of Land That Time Forgot about a month ago and I had that riff rattling about in my head. But I watched Atlantic Rim last week and was like "Ya know, there is that minisub at the beginning, was it that one?"

I believe I have, it looks familiar, I've seen so many of them, the Alan Parker one, the Ken Womack and Scott Freiman masterclass, and Freiman's deconstruction of the album. I love 'em all, anything that breaks down how the music was created and recorded interests me to no end.

I remembered there being a bunch when Reptilcus went on its rampage, so I looked at that sequence and jotted them all down. Plus I found one that refers to a McCartney song. So I started a draft for the "Netflix & Gizmoplex Era" - once we get through season 13, I'll post that.
I'm not going to even think of including Rifftrax, CT, or The Mads, a guy has to draw a line somewhere. For now, I'm content with MST only.

I didn't find anything in Outlaw, unless there was something I just didn't recognize. I did subject myself to Whatney Smith first thing in the morning, so I hope I survive.

I survived Whatney, although I did fight a rotten headache all day afterwards. May or may not be a connection.
Didn't find anything in The Movie, but just because I didn't find anything doesn't mean there wasn't something I didn't recognize.
I did find one reference in both Samson and Overdrawn, and they ended up being the same reference.
Samson vs. the Vampire Women
When Queen Serena rises, right after the Magic Eye picture reference, Servo sings "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head" from A Day in the Life.
Overdrawn at the Memory Bank
This one is really faint and it's hard to hear it even with headphones. Early in the movie right after the "UPS fashions of the future" line you can barely hear Mike sing "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head" from A Day in the Life.
