And on that day, he took his final stumble into darkness...
(I'm sorry...)

President Ford was the first president I knew, since he was born in Omaha. This is not a surprise, but it is a sadness.
RIP, President Ford.

Wear your W.I.N. buttons at half-mast.
Actually, I never could decide what I felt about Gerald Ford.
On the one hand, he always seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
On the other hand, he pardoned Nixon and was on the Warren Commission - "Move on. Nothing to see here.".

He did love animals-I always liked that about him.

Sometimes I tell people that I was born during the Ford Administration.
When they stare into space, trying to figure out what years that was, I point at them and say, "Ha ha! The jokes on you! There wasn't any Ford Administration! He only took over the Nixon Administration, sucker!"
Sometimes people throw things at me.

I got to see President Ford at the University of Michigan once. I was at the football game a few years back when they retired his number.
This has been a tough year for Michigan fans.

So what's the over/under on Daddy Bush or Carter being next? Clinton's the obvious long shot, but if he keeps downing those cheese fries...

Carter, I think. When I saw him in Austin he looked bad. . .

RIP Mr. Ford. Not to be off color, but the first thing I thought of was the SNL skit of Dana Carvey as Tom Brokaw announcing Ford's death.
