I wish ESPN would hire me....I couldn't possibly look more foolish than they do.

Since the Saints are apparently responsible for all of the good of the post-Katrina era of New Orleans (or so ESPN told me), Bears fans must not want New Orleans to rebuild. Jackie Frost doesn't care about New Orleans' people.

And the Patriots have become like the Yankees to me. I can't criticize them; they're well coached, they play team ball, they execute in key situations, and I really just wish they'd go away. (Sorry DW). That's insulting. I won't argue with people being sick of the Pats winning, but they are nothing like the Yankees, even if that's not what you were saying. That said, I'm happy for the Colts and Manning and Dungy, even if it's at my team's expense.

(Sorry DW). Bill Simmons aka The Sports Guy on ESPN.com mentioned the same thing. sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070119 I'm going to email him and gloat now. Matt

Here are the final totals: mikefab- 7 Hugh Beaumont- 6 civlyzed- 6 Mr. Atari- 6 Sweetdreamer- 5 CaptainJoe- 5 Broadsword- 4 Ro-Matt- 4

Now...because of where I live (technically Indiana, but really more like greater Chicago), I kind of have a cross-town superbowl going on.
Nifty.
It's weird, though, because when I was out of town, a guy asked me where I was from. When I told him, he said I must be a Colts fan. I looked at him like a fool and said, "No, Bears of course." Took me a minute to realize why he'd assume I was Colts fan...especially since I don't even get local Indiana news. It's all from Chicago.

Wow? Second? Yesssssss... My prediction abilities continue to thrive at a ever-so-slightly-almost-above-average level! I'm the God, I'm the God, et cetera, et cetera, blah, blah.

Well, Bill Parcells retired today...Guess he didn't want to deal with another year of Tony Romo and "The Player" Can't say as I blame him, I certainly wouldn't want to coach T.O.

He shouldn't have come out of retirement in the first place.

So, didja hear that there are two African-American coaches in the Super Bowl this year? Seriously. I'll bet you wouldn't have heard that unless I told you. I'll bet no one will mention it at all...
What's been fun so far is watching the P.C. instincts kick in on all of the panel shows. The black former players (like Tom Jackson, Deion Sanders, etc) are referring to Smith & Dungy as "brothers" or "black" head coaches. The really, really white hosts (Chris Berman, Rich Eisen, Trey Wingo, etc) have to keep up their end of the conversation stumbling around with "African-Americans".
Language is silly.

Where's Rush when you need him?
Seriously, though, what else do they have to talk about? They have to fill space.
And it's funny to watch Lovie Smith. When he started here, he always downplayed the black head coach angle and just talked about football. He's slowly starting to get pulled into it. Of course it's a great thing, but he always took the noble route of "let other people talk about it for me." I guess he doesn't have as much of a choice now.
Seems to me that the REAL news would be the first Asian head coach in the Super Bowl.
